Chickpeas are great in curries- esp. if you roast them in the over first, they crisp up.

Eggs, eggs, EGGS. And bacon / smoked salmon with naughty white bread or crumpets and lurpak!

I hit my carb and fat macro but always fall short of protein... wonder if that's harmful.

Malbec is a.mazing. I find the fuller bodied reds more satisfying, so I only have 1 or 2 glasses at home.

Started peer pressure. Plus, I do, or did rather, really enjoy smoking. Quit 14 months ago. My partner doesn't smoke, made it easier. Wanted to stop because I was getting an office job, and didn't want to be sitting at my desk craving cigarettes. Also easier to do because nobody believed I would. Yeah, I'm competitive.

I track my sat fat and try hard not to exceed. oils / nuts etc are ok, though.

Yep, essentially looking for low cal sources.

A simple sauce for salmon: After frying seasoned salmon, add a little butter to the pan. Fry up a clove of chopped garlic and a tablespoon of roughly chopped non-pareil capers in this. Remove the salmon to sit, and add a generous splash of red wine vinegar, and another knob of butter. Once this has picked up all the pan…

Surprised by the 'whoah, alcoholic' comments here. Fizzy water and cordial, low alcohol wine, a change of scenery.

£10.49, not bad eh! Here's the item URL: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110941810477&var=410133909817

I bought a resistance band set on ebay (apparently that equates to different weights)- this is the workout i'll start with: http://scoobysworkshop.com/womens-beginning-resistance-band-workout/

What can I do with a resistance band at home (preferably in less than 20 mins!)

50g oats (rolled, not totally mulched) to 200ml liquid. Add 150ml to begin, the remaining once cooked to loosen.
-
Skinny fat? Is that the technical term?
-
If I set my reduction to 20% it goes below my BMR!
-
Don't net below your BMR (which for most people is more than 1200- mine is 1440 and I'm 5"2!) I can only create a deficit of 250 cals a day, as that's the difference between the cals I need to maintain my weight and the cals I need to live. Sure, that means I'll lose a pound every 2 weeks rather than every week, but it's a…
-
Or I could just estimate under... my understanding is that vigorous cardio (ie when I stop i'm drenched and feel sick) burns around 10 cals a minute.
-
Thanks guys, for help. Think my plan is now to eat just a little over my TDEE (excluding exercise) and eat back exercise cals. darkpath, how does a HRM work? I.e. how are cals burned calculated?
-
And do you eat back exercise cals?
-
Ok, but I don't want to 'break even' on cals. Thinking out loud here, but if I burn 250 cals on average and then drop 250 cals from my maintenance weight... is this the best way to achieve loss?
-
Thing is though, that only says frequency, not time spent. And also not intensity. IMO 1 hour cardio a week is better than 2 hour low intensity, like walking.

Cheat day makes denial elsewhere tolerable.

Eggs on toast.

Bixa- sparkling water idea sounds good :)

It's definitely going to be the tuna- if have the salmon starter too, I'll be positively GLOWING from all the Omega-3.
-
It's all in the seasoning- lime juice, fish sauce and palm sugar mixed up with fresh chopped chilli and mint makes an awesome dressing for steak, chicken or fish. I also simmer capers with red wine vinegar and a tiny bit of butter to make fish interesting :)
-
Hi Jess, I'll add you :)
-
I thought to do it accurately they need to put you in a pool- otherwise it's just making assumptions about your frame and composition based on your height, rather than any accurate observation. Remember that breasts are mostly composed of fat- that's got to be at least 15% right there- mine weigh 1/2 a stone last time I…

Check out superscrimpers website http://www.channel4.com/programmes/superscrimpers/articles; saw something last night about keeping herbs fresh in the fridge using kitchen roll, would probably work with lettuce.

With real gravy, close to 1000. Gravy is made with the fat from the meat, and the potatoes are loaded with it, too!
