  • I started a few years ago at 130lbs & when I started I couldn't run 1/4 mile. I have asthma which complicated matters. I was up to 2 miles in a month & running 4 miles shortly after. Since then I ran a 1/2 marathon this May & another this past weekend. I went from hating it to loving it. Not so much for weight loss but for…
  • Feel free to add me, my diary is open & I try to encourage others & offer advice when asked if I feel I can help :flowerforyou:
  • I just a 1/2 cup of 4% cottage cheese with cinnamon & stevia in it.
  • I eat the sugar free chocoate pudding 60 calories & I believe 3 net carbs. I also buy the sugar free hershey's cararmel filled chocolates (if you can handle the sugar alcohols), they give some people tummy issues. I have a stockpile of Atkins bars which are my nightly treat. I like the chocolate hazelnut bar (3 net carbs)…
  • Thank you for the comment. Too much unhelpful/insensitive advice on here. It's nice to see others besides myself calling those people out on they're bad behavior. Maybe we'll get the few bad apples on here to go away, or at least, think before inserting foot in mouth :flowerforyou:
  • Thank you:flowerforyou: I really appreciate that. At 45 yrs old (end of August) & what I've been through in my life, I surely won't let someone elses comments scare me away that quickly:ohwell: I was once told "you can't be hurt by someone you don't care about". Thanks again for the support:flowerforyou:
  • Sorry, forgot to quote before replying but in response to jamek92's post of "Ignoring the total falsity in which you claim sugar causes diabetes, I'm really curious as to how the hell you trained for a half marathon on 60g or less of carbs per day. That is insanely low carb for anybody, let alone somebody who's running…
  • Good to see I'm not the only one here. I thought my obsessive/compulsive personality was what made me eat like this :o)
  • I love the "copy yesterday's foods" too! Yeah, I also think part of it comes from being told what I could eat & not eat when I was a kid. Now I eat dinner for breakfast & breakfast as a snack :o) I agree, if it is working, why fix it. I have also found that some low carb foods, while great for a low carb diet, do not agree…
  • It is for me. I suffered from bulimia for 16 years & sugar/carbs were ALWAYS by binge foods. You just don't see bulimics binging & purging on protein & vegetables! Even after being Low carb (60 net carbs or less a day) for over a year, if I eat sugar (for example, after my 1/2 marathon sat, I ate cookies & an ice cream…
  • I have an open diary as well. I will send you a request to be friends so you can view mine :flowerforyou:
  • what diet are you on? i would need to know that before suggesting what to eliminate or add :o)
  • I wouldn't worry about being "perfect" or you can set yourself up for failure. Of course you want to give it 100% every day but if you slip up & eat something you shouldn't you don't want to feel so guilty that you quit or binge out of guilt. The glucose monitor would be if you are cutting carbs drastically & want to…
  • Last time I checked, this was under "food & nutrition" not "forums for sarcastic kids". Good luck losing weight if this is how you support others!
  • I think 1200-1300 calories may be too little for you. I would up your calories based on your current weight & height. Try at least 1500 calories & cut back on carbs/sugars/breads & add more vegetables & lean protein like chicken breast or turkey breast
  • Sorry, but I don't find that funny when people are actual asking for help. Go to the fun & game section & post there :o)
  • Guess I should have posted the obvious. Rather than listen to us at the forum, you could buy Atkins, the diet revolution (on amazon or used on ebay) & see what you think after reading it & even discussing it with your family doctor. That way he could monitor your blood levels to see if it works for you. Best wishes on your…
  • One? How about OneHundred. Al's Donuts, Hostess raspberry zingers, fudge brownies, mrs smith's deep dish apple pie, pizza hut pizza, kettle cooked mesquite barbecue chips, raspberry filled pastries, sugar cookies right of the oven, ANYTHING Panera, Iced sugar cookie from Mrs Fields, banana split from Dairy Queen, Ok well…
  • Feel free to add me, I practice a low carb lifestyle & have been for over a year
  • I guess I have to be the "odd one out" on this one. I tried every diet out there & the only one that I lost weight AND KEPT OFF THE WEIGHT for over a year with is a low carb diet. I do a modified Atkins though, instead of fatty meats & full cheeses, I substitute lean chicken & turkey & add healthy fats (olive oil, flax…
  • I measure everything. I keep a teaspoon, tablespoon, 1/4 cup & cup right on the kitchen counter. I also take them with me when I travel. It is amazing how much more you eat when you guesstimate! I would strongly suggest using them if you are serious about tracking your weight. It is the only way to know EXACTLY what you…
  • I like to stuff it in a tomato & melt cheese on top
  • Yep, I did the same thing. It told me to eat 1240 or so (from what I remember) but I changed my lifestyle from sedantary (which I am except for the running, I sit at the computer or in front of the t.v. all day. I changed it to active & I still go above my set calories. After being on Atkins website for 6 months I realized…
  • My dermatologist prescribed Ultravate years back & it was the only cream that ever worked. It is strong though & can cause wrinkles in the skin so it is not for the face. (I had it on my hands in between my fingers) from stress.
  • Ditto! I run 8 to 10 miles & don't "carb load" in fact I still only eat 60 net carbs max. I may eat 200-300 more calories the same day (after my run) but that is after 8-10 miles.
