I have 3 children and have never quite been able to get rid of the belly fat. I'm starting to vary my workouts and include more core work to try to improve in this area, but at my age (49), I'm not sure I have much hope of getting rid of it completely.

Hi! I'm 49, a second grade teacher, and mom of three boys - two in college and one in high school. I'm 5' 5"ish and am currently 132, but would like to get back down to between 126 and 128. I used MFP a few years ago and lost 25 lbs, getting down to 125. A medication I've been taking has caused me to gain some of the…

I've had some luck with green tea capsules and raspberry ketone tablets.

I deleted and reinstalled the MFP app on my iPhone, then had to turn on Fitbit steps instead of iPhone steps again. It finally shows fitbit steps, but it's off by a few hundred.

Your daughter was right! You look amazing - congratulations! Happy New Year!

I'm a bit older than you (okay, old enough to be your mother). I'm 5' 4.5" and started out at 150 lbs. I set my goal for 130 when I began using MFP. I started walking for exercise (through the halls after school where I teach, then outside when the weather warmed up). I learned portion control and started using my digital…

How is your water intake? I go through phases when it seems the pooch is really evident. I've had three children (my youngest just turned 14) and I lost about 26 lbs, but I still fight the pooch battle. I've increased the fiber and water in my diet and that seems to help. If you add fiber, though, do it gradually. Too much…

Hi! I always forget to check the boards (all of them). I need to do that more!

I hijack my kids' xbox 360/kinect and do Zumba Core Fitness once in a while.

I'm honestly awful about remembering to take pills of any kind. I take a bunch of things when I remember, including green tea, raspberry ketone, fish oil, D3 and a women's multivitamin among others. Young I'm not, but if you're in good health, you shouldn't need much more than a good vitamin and maybe a calcium supplement…

My big boys are both mixes. Max is the brown boy. He's a boxer, rottie, cocker spaniel, dalmation, Australian Shepherd, chow chow. He's almost 6 weighs 90 lbs, and is epileptic. Oliver is the slightly smaller white/black/spotted boy. He's half boxer and, we were told, part rottweiler and labrador. I'm not sure I buy that.…

I'm 5'5" (almost) and just under 126 lbs. My goal weight was actually 130 and I'm VERY happy with my current weight, though I'm working on toning up what I've got. MFP has my maintenance calories at 1640 for lightly active (I'm a second grade teacher, so I'm on my feet a good bit). I also work out at least 5 times per…

I've often wondered this myself. I've even thought of writing down the predictions and checking later to see how accurate they are. BUT, knowing that all days AREN'T exactly the same, at least mine aren't, I don't think it would be right on the money. However, I've definitely lost, and have passed my goal weight and…

Welcome to MFP! This site has been wonderful for me. I hope it works just as well for you!

I met my goal a while back, but wasn't comfortable with the 1800 calories that MFP set to maintain. After a few days, I changed the option to "Lose 1/2 pound per week" and it put me at 1410. I manually set the calories to 1500. some days I go a bit over that, and some days under. I'm fighting a knee problem (Baker's Cyst)…

That is motivating! Stick with it and you'll see even greater progress. :)

1.6 miles walked - Mother Nature decided to cut my walk short last night. Doesn't look like she'll cooperate today, either.

2 miles this evening (walking). My pace was slower because my husband and youngest son kept me company. They can't keep up with my regular pace. My dogs just cheat no matter what the pace. ;)

Walked 3 miles today...

Congrats on quitting! I lost my mother to lung cancer almost 18 years ago. I'm always glad to hear that someone has beaten this addiction! Good for you - you'll be all the happier and healthier for it!!
