Fitbit Charge Question

I've just started using a Fitbit Charge. This morning, after taking my dogs out for their morning "business", it was showing almost steps. This is not syncing to MFP. It reads "0 fitbit steps" but credits me 3 calories for exercise. I did a manual sync, but nothing changed. I read that there have been syncing issues, but they were supposedly fixed. Am I doing something wrong or not doing something I should be doing?

    My fitbit hasn't been syncing properly for days. I took around 12,000 steps yesterday and MFP is still reading "0".

    I deleted and reinstalled the MFP app on my iPhone, then had to turn on Fitbit steps instead of iPhone steps again. It finally shows fitbit steps, but it's off by a few hundred.
