  • How much to gain throughout your pregnancy depends on your BMI. With a BMI of 20-25 it's advised to gain 25-35 pounds. With a higher BMI you should probably only gain 15-20 lbs. As far as calories go: 1st trimester: maintenance 2nd trimester: maintenance +200-300 calories 3rd trimester: maintenance +500 calories Congrats…
  • Caesar Turkey Wrap: Grab a tortilla/wrap, spread with low-fat Caesar dressing, top with shredded romaine lettuce, sliced turkey and some shaved parmesan. Roll it up and wrap tightly in plastic wrap. Yummy and filling. Veggie sticks and dip (made with yogurt). Cut up fruit Salads: take a container with a tight fitting lid,…

  • I second the protein based breakfast. On days I eat a lower protein breakfast I am usually hungry a lot earlier than if I would have more protein for breakfast. Also: how much water are you drinking a day? I looked at your diary and saw lots of processed food (taco bell, pizza, chips etc). Processed food is high in sodium…
  • Sweet and spicy salmon, wild-rice-mix and oriental veggie stir fry. And homemade chocolate ice cream for dessert. The delicious kind with egg yolks and heavy cream
  • fresh donuts... the ones with a dusting of powdered sugar or cinnamon sugar. Or FUNNEL CAKES *drool* That combo of fried dough and powdered sugar - best thing on earth!
  • We had Crockpot Beef & Broccoli over brown rice. Easy, yummy and filling! http://www.food.com/recipe/crock-pot-beef-and-broccoli-488069
  • My favorite: A tablespoon of natural peanut butter and strawberries.
  • Have you ever heard of Bountiful Baskets? It's a food co-op and they have a location in your town (if your profile is correct). You contribute on Mondays/Tuesdays and can pick up your basket on Saturdays. For under $20 you get a great amount of produce. Just to give you an idea, last time I participated I got: 2 big yams,…
  • Their website is www.bountifulbaskets.org Read their new participant instructions for all information.
  • Italian Sausage Soup http://allrecipes.com/recipe/italian-sausage-soup/detail.aspx I use Turkey sausage to save some fat but stick to the recipe otherwise. My husband and I love it. I love baking so I will always serve it with some homemade rolls *yum*
  • I second Bountiful Baskets. Even with the surcharge for each order you pay less than $20 for a lot of produce. My husband and I eat A LOT of fruit and veggies and depending on how much I have left from the previous pick up I will get an order every 1-2 weeks. When I compare it to the grocery store prices here I pay about…
  • String cheese
  • Homemade Cinnamon Ice Cream. The real deal with sugar, cream and eggs in it. Made it yesterday and haven't tried it yet but the ice cream base tasted AWESOME
  • I don't think people are trying to be rude. It's just the fact that this recipe has been on the website about a 100 times (give or take)... Some people like it and some people don't.
  • Low fat dairy: cottage cheese, greek yogurt and cheese is all high in protein.
  • Take cucumber slices and put cream cheese on top. YUM! I love it with Philadelphia Salmon flavor.
  • We love roasted carrots! Mix with some olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder and back at around 400°F till carrots are tender. I either use baby carrots for this or cut regular carrots in strips.
  • I made those apple muffins before, they have chopped apples in it and a yummy oatmeal topping. They are not too sweet either. I'm sure you could add some ground walnuts to either the muffin or topping. http://allrecipes.com/recipe/apple-cinnamon-muffins/detail.aspx
  • Cocoa powder and coconut -> Mounds oatmeal :)
  • Blue Diamond makes these.
  • If this is something that you do (almost) daily, I would suggest you change your activity level to active instead of logging it as a workout.
  • I really like the spicy ones: Habanero BBQ, Wasabi... very satisfying. I don't remember seeing the salt/vinegar anywhere but I'll look out for those, sounds really good.
  • There are tons of topics like this already and peope gave great advise. Use the search feature and look for "low budget", "cheap", "frugal"...
  • I prefer oat bran. I stir eggs in my cooked oat bran, maybe the protein helps with keeping me full. I love to top it with a Tbsp of peanut butter and some berries *yum*
  • How tall are you? How much do you weigh? How much do you want to lose each week?
  • 1 slice of whole grain bread (homemade) with natural peanutbutter and a banana plain greek yogurt flavored with some frosting creations powder coffee with vanilla creamer Came in about 100 calories more than I usually plan for breakfast but oh well... who cares?!
  • I LOVE these blueberry muffins, no funny ingredients. I'm sure kids would love them. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/667708-very-blueberry-muffins-110-cal-of-pure-deliciousness?hl=very+blueberry&page=2#posts-13801618
  • Will start tomorrow, Oct 1st :) Anybody with me?
  • I know EXACTLY how you feel. I'm the same :grumble: Most of the time I can't help the cravings and give in (it's bad for about 2 days) and then I get back on track and make sure to eat healthy and exercise. If I can I will save 200 calories or so for a couple days. But I'm eating at 1800 not 1200.
  • BUMP for great ideas! A nice bowl of warm oatmeal is the best breakfast on a cold morning :)
