  • "The Wild Diet: Go Beyond Paleo to Burn Fat, Beat Cravings, and Drop 20 Pounds in 40 days" by Abel James --- The "Wild Diet" is a variation on Paleo that allows: grass-fed dairy; recommends intermittent fasting; filling most of your plate with (organic) leafy greens and/or non-starchy veggies; bulletproof coffee; as well…
  • I have been following it since April 9th, though not super strictly (example: I have cheat meals once or twice/week, also, I just realized the other day that most of the dark chocolate I was eating has soy in it :( ). I've lost about 10 lbs without fretting over calorie counting, and have (amazingly) curbed my otherwise…
  • Lately I don't have a lot of time to prepare foods, which is terrible, because it's hard to eat healthy if you don't make time to make your own food so you know what's in it. Anyway, the recipes I usually make time to create are healthy sweet treats that I use to keep my sweet tooth at bay. One such thing is a homemade…
  • Hi Betsym! Keep up the good work, and don't fret over fluctuations. As long as you don't let a "bad" day or two turn into a bad week or few weeks, you'll be just fine! I wish others were more active in this group, but I have to admit that I keep forgetting to check in. Hopefully people will come back and contribute.
  • Keep it up, Betsym! I am not sure why this group seems to be dropping off the face of the earth. I had a lot on my plate from mid-April to the second week of August, so I lost a whole lot of time that should have been devoted to working out. I did keep up with at least 3 to 4 times a week, but it wasn't up to my usual goal…
  • Thanks, Val! I can totally understand getting off track by way of tragedy. That's great you're getting right back at it, though. Fight the good fight, because you know you're worth it. <3 Keep at it, Betsym3!
  • That's great! keep up the good work!
  • Wow, this group has 69 members! How amazing is that?!
  • Hi, I'm Sunshine. I've been working hard at getting regular exercise into my life since June 3rd of last year, and watching what I eat, trying to improve my cholesterol numbers and halt the fact that I was heading into pre-diabetes based on some screening numbers I received in late 2010. So far I'm down over 22 lbs, and…
  • I have had a membership at 24 hour Fitness since June of last year, which is great for extreme weather. I go a bare minimum of 3 days per week with a goal to go 6 days a week (I've done it a few times, but mostly I average 3 to 4 times/week). I do cardio on the elliptical trainer, or recently started running on the…
  • Right, I thought that when your calorie goals were evaluated, they are geared toward your goal weight. The way I understand it is that the time to reevaluate your calorie goals will be when you reach your goal weight and want to maintain it, rather than to continue losing.
  • As a pumpkin spice everything addict, I love this idea, especially the lower calorie modification (omitting banana and raisins). I always have ground pumpkin spice around to add to my coffee.
