I am more hungry on days when I don't workout/play hockey/am active. On my 1-2 off days per week I get really...really hungry all day.

Did I ever say your metabolism STOPS if you don't eat 6 meals a day? No. It's just not nearly as efficient. I'll take the advice of my degree holding/fitness trainer/competitive fitness competing soon to be brother-in-law, over some yahoo on the internet.

You do realize you can cut fat and still eat 1600 calories a day correct? Low carb high protein diet cuts fat. Carbs make body fat, not calories.

Fat people lose weight when they stop eating a ton. That doesn't mean you're doing it right. When you want to get fit, do some research and you'll see. Fitness models/trainers/people with six packs aren't eating 3 meals a day.

I could eat 1000 calories and not lose weight because...my metabolism wouldn't be doing anything. I eat 1800-2200 calories, eat 5-6 meals a day, and work out 5-6 times a week. This is why I lose weight.

Proven to be false? A post on MFP linking to 4 people's opinions is not proof. When I see a study of THOUSANDS of people maybe I'll take your word for it. Until then, I'll keep dropping weight like an animal and eat my 5-6 meals a day.

Oh yeah, the fact that it's been proven to help increase weight loss has no impact. You eat more small meals, your metabolism does not stop. But hey what do I know.

You need to eat 5-6 small meals (300 calories or so) a day. On average at least. Some meals I eat are 500-600, others are 150 (snacks)

You should be eating 1600+ a day easy. Your body needs probably at least 2k a day, so even at that level you'll be losing weight every day

3,500 calories (or so) is 1 pound. 3,500x100=350,000 calories. I would personally set 5-10 pound goals as stepping stones to that long term goal.

Healthy grilled cheese and Progresso Steak and Russet Potato Soup... 365~ or so calories. and I'm full.

I have a cheat meal/two meals (in one day) once every two weeks. Like others have said...if you deprive yourself you'll fail. I'll eat Pizza or fast food (I still stick to portion control though...I don't go freakin crazy), but it really helps. It doesn't hurt that I'm a great cook, and even when I'm eating healthy it's…

Nutri-System tastes like dog poo. It's also full of preservatives. While it's portioned out and will help lose weight, it's not healthy eating.

I eat between 1600-2200 with a net always between 1400-1700. I'm on a 2lb per week loss goal, so once I hit my goal in another 15 pounds I'll be kicking that up to a net of 2000-2200.
