You are well within a reasonable diet. I wouldn't change anything. People will tell you different, but the reality is that you need a calorie deficit to lose weight, period. As long as you are able to function well, 2000-2500 calories per day is fine. You could even get away with less. But you need to choose a level that…

The advice to get a food scale is very good. It's very easy to mis-calculate when guessing.
-
Eating more will not help you lose more. With the numbers you're saying, you should be losing around .7 pounds per week. That means in the past 51 days you should have lost 5.1 pounds. You have actually lost 8.3 pounds. I'd say that's pretty good! You've made a larger caloric deficit than you've recorded, so you must be…

40 carbs per day???? You mean 40 calories?
-
Yes, obviously a joke post. Or the guy is a flaming idiot.
-
It's true that high GI carbs have a different effect on your feelings of hunger, etc. But the reality is that if you can "gut it out" and endure the sugar crash that comes later, not adding any extra calories, the "Calories in, Calories out" system works no matter where those calories come from. Personally I aim for 30%…

Consider investing in a scale to measure your food intake more accurately. Increasing your calorie intake will not help you to lose weight.
-
I eat around 180-270 grams of protein per day (30% of caloric intake) depending on how much I work out, and I feel better than ever. My ideal body weight is about 190, so this is about 1-1.5g per pound of body weight.

And sugar does have nutritional value, especially if you do any high-intensity workouts. http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/post_workout_carbs.htm

More than a little silly! Sugar doesn't make you fat. Excess calories do!

This is one of the most irritating things for me. People saying "aren't you going to stop losing weight now?" It makes me want to show them the belly fat that I still have to get rid of. I think some of it is jealousy. Some of it may be still wearing your old (large) clothes, but I don't want to purchase new ones until I…

I think that's the point of this thread. We don't like to drink calories, so we drink diet sodas instead.
-
I started drinking diet soda to give me something to look forward to on my diet. You can't go wrong with 0 calories. Also, most of the negative stuff I've seen is from organic food web sites that want to sell you more of their "natural" (meaning EXPENSIVE) products. If there really were a health issue with artificial…

Go to the ER. Right now.

Chocolate is not bad. It's the milk chocolate you want to take out; dark chocolate is actually pretty good. Only 5g of sugar in this dark chocolate bar (and 5g of FIBER!): http://www.fatsecret.com/calories-nutrition/ghirardelli/midnight-reverie-chocolate-86%25-cacao

I try to spread my calories out through the day to keep myself feeling full, and I set up MFP for 6 time periods of about 3 hours each. 5 small meals per day has worked pretty well for me.

CARROTS are specifically mentioned as being good for your teeth via saliva production. Eat them.

About sugar and your teeth: Fiber-rich fruits and veggies are good for your teeth. http://www.deltadentalins.com/oral_health/healthyfoods.html
-
Yes, it is problematic that MFP is taking it to an extreme with sugar limitation, but on the other hand, having the low sugar goal to aim for can help people to try to fill their diets with high protein, high fiber, low carb sources of food that will keep them full longer and have more success on their diets. If you're…

Eating fruit isn't going to kill you. The important thing is making sure all the foods you eat have nutritional value, especially focusing on dietary fiber and protein. Fruits are often rich in fiber which means the sugar in that apple isn't going to kill you. Also, if you spread out the sugar throughout the day and don't…

I'm aiming at losing 1.5 lbs per week. Here's what happened with me: October 2: 215.8 October 29: 212.4 3.4 pound loss over about 4 weeks. Disappointment. October 30: 209.8 October 31: 208.4 4 pound loss over two days. Total for the month: 7.4 pounds lost. But it was pretty discouraging before I lost those 4 pounds over…

If a guy is interested, spending time with him will probably cause him to become more and more interested. Also, the idea of something or someone being "forbidden" can act as an attractant, rather than a deterrent. If you're going to spend time with him, why can't you bring your husband along? I wouldn't be okay with my…

I think up and down planks switching every 5 seconds for one hour should put you over 1,000. good luck lasting that long.

Sounds like she's a bit jealous.

did one for 2 minutes today -- feel the burn! This is my go-to for quick calorie burn. I allow myself 20 extra calories per minute with planks.

The problem with sugar is when you have a lot of it at once, and spike your glucose levels, and then have a "sugar crash" afterward when you feel all exhausted because your body has produced too much insulin, (trying to bring your blood sugar level back in balance) and then you need more sugar. This will happen if you…

I have been losing weight just fine, and I usually have about double the amount of sugar I am alotted. I focus mostly on the number of calories I am consuming, and ensure that I am intaking a lot of protein and now I'm working on making sure I'm getting more fiber.
