  • I saw it on FB and will be running Saturday in her honor as well. So very sad....
  • Awesome, thanks for sharing!!!
  • Hi, I am Sheryl. I started C25K in January and have run a couple 5k's and a 10k, and now getting ready to run my first half at the end of October. Looking to run a few halfs in 2014 and eventually work up to a whole in the next few years. In less than a year I have gone from hating running to being addicted! I love the…
  • ^^^ THIS!! I can not be trusted with potato chips in the house, so I eat them in small bags with a sandwich for lunch, or in a restaurant to feed the craving with built in portion control! Also pizza.... any size turns into a single serving. I have no problems with candy or sweets though...
  • I started with timed using C25K and it worked really well. Once I could consistently run several times a week I started going by distance.
  • I just signed up for my first half marathon on October 27th. I started running last January, and have worked up to a long run of about six miles, so I have some training to do for sure! Feel free to add me, the more support the better and would love to hear of your progress!
  • Canadian Bacon and a little shredded cheese... delicious!
  • I am 44 and the past year has been an amazing awakening for me in terms of fueling my body with healthy food (most of the time! ) and starting running which I never thought I could do. Feel free to add me, always open for more support and friendship on this journey!
  • I love to run in the morning, and I never eat before I go. I will have a little water when I get up, then head out to run. Post run I will usually have a protein drink or something while getting ready for work, and drink lots of water, then have some "real" breakfast once I get to work.
  • I am just under 5'6 and my goal is around 135, I am currently at 142, down 28 pounds and it feels really good! But I would like to lose a few more and then focus on overall toning. I am 44.
  • That is awesome... thank you for sharing!!
  • I have had the FitBit One for a few months now and I absolutely love it! It motivates me to get up and move, besides my actually workouts! I think the biggest eye opener for me was seeing that if I went to the gym and did a killer workout, but didn't really move the rest of the day I wasn't really getting the calorie burn…
  • Great job on what you have already done! This site is wonderful for support and for really tracking what you eat and calories burned. Sending you a request now, looking forward to supporting each other!! :)
  • I used C2K as well and it was awesome for me!! The app that I used was by Zen Labs and it was free. Worked great! Just keep trying to do a little more each time. Don't rush it!! And agreed, proper shoes are absolutely necessary!! Good luck! :)
  • You are so not alone on this! I know that I am always going to want to have some beers on the weekends, and probably some not great food. I do log everything, or as close as I can get (I can't always remember exactly how many beers/how much popcorn, etc.) I try to keep it close to my goals, but doesn't always happen. A few…
  • I do this most of the time. I will plan what I am going to eat tomorrow before I go to bed so I can see how the calories are going to come out as well as macros and adjust accordingly. Sometimes what I end up eating will change slightly, but I just make adjustments as I go. I find I do much better if I have a plan for the…
  • Female Age 44 Height 5'6' Highest Weight - 170 lbs Current Weight - 155 lbs Lowest Weight - 115 lbs (in high school!!) Goal Weight - under 140 lbs
  • ^^^ THIS! If you have one now you will have to start over some other day and go through the hell of the two weeks smoke free you've already been through! I quit 14 years ago and my dad called it "the idiot factor" I've gone two weeks, I'd be an idiot to start again now. Keep drawing out the timeline... 2 week, one month,…
  • I just got my FitBit One about three weeks ago and love it! As others on here said, I still use MFP for all of my food logging, let FitBit track my steps/calories burned and it will sync up with MFP. I find the calorie burn numbers to be quite accurate. You can still manually log activities that the FitBit can't really…
  • Feel free to add me, 44 and on here every day!
  • Congrats on the 16, that's awesome! Feel free to add me, I'm always up for new connections on here. The support is awesome!!
  • My official weigh is first thing Friday morning, and I will record that weight if there is a change, good or bad. I will sometimes weigh myself at other times in the week, but I don't record those.
  • Love this... I have lost 10 dozen large eggs!! :)
  • LA Fitness. It's ok, best thing is it's less than a mile from my house so I am more motivated to go! Also my basement when I don't get myself up to the gym.
  • Yes!! Love this.. Also Magic by Pilot and Don't Stop Believin' and many others I can't think of right now!!
  • Pizza and beer! I have cut out beer during the week, I may have a glass of wine or two, but no beer on school nights. I do have beer on the weekends, but I work out more and "save up" some extra calories during the week for it. Seems to be working out ok so far! Pizza I haven't touched in months... but I had a dream about…
  • Congratulations, you look amazing!!!!! Happy Birthday from one Pisces to another, my birthday was yesterday!!
  • You all are inspiring me to try and get my butt out of bed earlier and do morning workouts! I usually go to the gym after work during in the week, but go in the morning on the weekends. I always notice a huge difference in my energy level when I get there in the morning, but so far haven't found the motivation to wake up…
  • I generally prelog so I can see how my day is going to come out and make adjustments as needed. I either do it the night before (if I am super organized!) or in the morning. Sometimes things change as the day goes on, but at least I have an idea of where I am at so I know how it is going to impact my day if I eat that…
  • Count me in! I am down 11 pounds since the beginning of the year, and another 20 by April 30 would put me right at my goal!!
