I am also a picky eater; however, I was able to drop 42 pounds in about 6.6 months by making some adjustments to my diet and adding exercise 5-6 days a week (even walking for 30 minutes a day makes a HUGE difference). My diet changes were as follows: - stayed close to 1,200 calories a day (ate back my exercise calories on…

My family LOVES when I make roasted parmesan cauliflower. I simply cut up the cauliflower, sprinkle with olive oil and parmesan cheese (either shredded or grated) and pop in the oven on broil (low) for about 10 minutes until a golden brown color. Super fast, easy and healthy. :)

If you know anyone that likes to cook (friends, family, co-workers), they are a great resource and can give you helpful tips. It helps to invest in basic kitchen essentials such as a crockpot, decent pots and pans, measuring cups (I prefer the glass ones with the pour spouts), and some basic utensils like cooking spoons…

WOW!! Thank you! :) I just did all that and I've been starving myself 500 calories a day! I should be around a 1,700 calorie budget! I'll try that for 4-6 weeks and see what kind of improvement I can make! Thank you so much....this type of stuff seems so foreign language to me!

I'm actually on my second round of trying to loose weight. The first time was in 2010 and I lost 33 pounds in 6 months. This time, I just started again around July and I've lost about 15 pounds (I had gained back about 15 of the 33 I lost the first time, so I'm pretty much picking up where I left off two years ago).

I pack lunches for my husband and daughter...here are some ideas from what I pack them. :) Tuna fish pitas Chicken salad roll ups (roll ups with burrito shells) Ham and cheese sandwich on Arnold's sandwich thins (100 calorie) Peanut butter and jelly roll up Salsa and chips Fruit (sometimes fresh, sometimes canned) Veggies…

I think it is a bra issue...just wanted another "opinion" from people who run. It isn't a side stick or a sharp pain. It just feels bruised the next day on the surface above the ribs....but it is DIRECTLY under each breast. I wear a D cup, so it is a very real possibility, I guess. I will have to see what other supportive…

Ran 11 minutes straight Sunday and then 15 minutes straight last night (I was only aiming to match the 11 from the day before). WOOOHOOO! And that is with asthma and being 54 pounds overweight! :) Congratulations to everyone else on their NSVs...keep 'em coming!

Great job! I just got back into running and have a 5K this weekend. I'm super excited! Congratulations to you! :)

You look amazing! Congratulations!! :) Any words of wisdom for those still on the journey? I love hearing what changes people have made in their lives that have been a significant impact to their weight loss.

It is so sad that people can't be happy for someone trying to make positive changes in their life. I go through the same thing with my in-laws. When I was going to cardio classes 3x a week and running on the weekends, I was told that I was being selfish and taking too much time away from my family. BUT my sister-in-law…

I actually take the green tea supplements and I have definately noticed a difference! I take it to help stabilize my metabolism, especially since I have a desk job. When I'm taking it regularly (along with correct diet and exercise), I have noticed that I loose weight a little faster. It isn't a miracle pill, but it is…

Count me in too! I began working out conciously last January...lost 28 pounds and then spiraled downward for the second half of last year. The holidays really hurt me the most....SO....here I am again this January ready to be even more committed than I was last year. I need to get back on track. Today is my second…

This completely cracks me up....you couldn't have posted this at a better time! I just bought my daughter (age 6) one for Christmas because she is in Gymnastics and Cheerleading....they use a mini trampoline to help with stunts...so I thought it would be a great way for her to practice as well as continue to stay active…

We got our kids one for Christmas too! My husband and I are debate each day whether to try it out and make sure it works right...you know...for the kids! I got the Wii Fit game for me and am hoping to get the Wii Zumba game also. I love the commercials for the Just Dance..so that might go on my wish list since my…

I would love to know how to do this!!! I am such a horrible planner and I think that is contributing to why I am not loosing as much as fast. I end up trying to take the "easy way out" and do cereal or something else. Any tips, ideas, suggestions would be great!!!

I got this one off of ebay for a few bucks: Sport Line Duo Dual-Use Dual Heart Rate Monitor 1010. Probably not the best one on the market, but it will work until I can afford a better one. Thanks for the tips! I can't wait to get it and try it out!

So happy for you!!! You have done such a great job and deserve to feel "all that and a bag of chips"!!! :flowerforyou: I really needed to read this and remind myself that I have come so far. I'm having a rough weightloss week, but I don't want to give up! Here's to us all feeling "all that and a bag of chips"!!!

Baby steps!!! Try cooking with Olive Oil (lightly spray) if you must fry something. Invest in a grill (indoor or outdoor) or try baking your meats. Steam some fresh veggies or add a salad to your meals. Start reading the nutrition labels and looking at the serving sizes, calories per serving,…

QUESTION - It says here to times your weight by 12 to get your calorie budget. If I did that, I would be allowed 2,160. MFP is only allowing me 1,380. Am I missing something???????

THANK YOU!!! I have food-pushers in my life and it has made it soooooo hard to stay on track. I've confronted them and asked them to help instead of sabotaging, and they usually agree. However, when my weak moments come around, they go right back to "here, have a brownie/piece of cake/ice cream/etc.". GRRRR!!!!!! Be strong…

I can't comment on the weight gain/loss part of the Nuva Ring; however, I can say that I stopped using it after only about 2 months. My 2-year-old found it on our bedroom floor one day and brought it to me thinking she had found a bracelet! My husband and I were "together" the night before and it apparently came out!!!!…

Good for you!! Everyone has similar feelings deep down...I know I do! I want to be the "skinny sister" for a change. I am only 5'1" but my sister is more like 5'6". Every time she says she "gains a few pounds", I never see it. I swear she has some secret compartment that it hides! :grumble: I also want to be the hot, sexy…

I've heard of Turbo Fire and Turbo Jam....but I don't know what they are. Are they like kickboxing workouts?
