  • I am the same height as you and have lost about 20 lbs in the last 2 months. Because you are already so near (almost in) the healthy weight range for your height, losing that much that quickly is unlikely. As everyone else has said, it would be unhealthy even if you could manage to do it. I would kill to be in the 170s, so…
  • Yes, it seems low to me. I am 5'10" and my goal weight is 185. Based on past experience, I am around a size 12 at 185 which for me is lovely. Could I be smaller? Of course. But I figure when I get to 185 I will see how I feel and go from there. The healthy range is like the 130's to the 170's if I recall correctly.
  • I have logged every day for 100 days and plan to continue for hundreds more. Not everyday is perfect but I am commited to living better and reaching my health and weight loss goals. Feel free to add me.
  • I teach high school students, but sadly lunch is still pretty early. Last year my prep was around 9:30 and lunch was around 11 so there was always time to snack, which I find helpful. If I skip anything, it's the morning snack because it is so close to lunch, but I always eat breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack once…
  • Awsome job! I am 5'10" and at 220 right now, you give me hope and motivation!
  • Yep, on every item that has a label. To be honest normally I am just looking for the serving size and calories, but lately I have been trying to look at sugar too...it is EVERYWHERE!
  • Peanut butter and chocolate.
  • Everyday. But I only log my weight once a week, and if it's a brand new number I only log what seems permanent. For instance, today (my weight in day) I weighed 220 even. But it was the first time that number came up, so I logged at 222. If I get ahead of myself and a pound or two is back the next day I feel like I lied. I…
  • Awesome job! You look great and give me hope. How tall are you?
  • I do both, but I feel like I truley get the most out of running. I am 227lbs, so it is rough on the joints, which is why I only run 2 times a week. I hope to be able to run up to 5 times a week as my weight continues to drop. Running simply provides more burn for the time.
  • Done. Six sets of 25, body weight only.
  • Me too! I teach English and I must point that out to a student at least once a day. The other one is "mines" as in "that's mines". I try to explain that the only time mine has an 's' is of it blows up or if it contains some sort of gem or precious metal.
  • I sometimes wear 2 bras, but recently bought a Champion Powerback. It is amazing! I got it in a 40 DD and it fit perfectly, seperates nicely and provides more support than any of the 6 other sports bras I have. I can even run in it comfortably. It was like $25 on amazon.com.
  • I am 5'10" and currently weigh 227 lbs. My short term goal weight is 210 because that is the lowest I have ever gotten to as an adult and I was pretty comfortable there (size 14/16 there). But in the long term, I would like to get down to 180 lbs. I have never seen myself at that weight and imagin that would put me around…
  • Awesome!

  • This morning, my boyfriend took me out to breakfast to this local place that has the BEST cinnamon roll french toast. I really wanted it, but I ordered a veggie omelette instead. It was pretty good, and I felt great afterwards knowing that I was able to make a healthier choice.
  • I think it entirely depends on the person. I try to get cardio in 6 days a week and strength only 2 days a week (obviously they overlap). That being said, my cardio varies in intensity. I find that if I go to hard, too many days in a row, my workouts don't feel as good. So I alternate what I do and have 3 different cardio…
  • Hourglass. It always works its way from out to in. My face and calfs first, then the boobs and natural waist. My hips and thighs are always last to go unfortunately.
  • I eat betwee 1600 and 2000 calories a day, depending on who much I exercise. I would be cautious eating so few calories. They say not to eat fewer than 1200 calories for a reason. Even if you are not trying to lose weight, certain nutrients are needed for your body to function best. I don't believe your body can get all…
  • I drink Premier Protein shakes that I get at Cosco. They come in chocolate and vanilla, and both are good, but I prefer the chocolate. They are 160 calories and 30g protein, and for the most part contain nothing else (a minimal amount of sugar and fat). I always have one and pair it with something with carbs in it.
  • I teach high school English and psychology.
  • I have been to the gym for the last 8 days in a row. I have been to the gym more in the months of May and June that I did in the previous year combined. I feel like I am finally on track to make some positive and lasting changes in my life.
  • I have a paper chain (yes, like the kind you made in kindergarten to count down the days until Christmas) and there is a link for every pound down to my first major goal of 200lbs. Every 10lbs the color changes, and the last 10 are red (b/c they are the tougher ones). I only take links off on Sundays, and it is strangely…
  • Show him a BMI chart and let him know that 80 lbs is not a healthy weight for a grown man of his height. Or, find out why. Maybe he just wants to be more fit, and for him that might mean building muscle, not losing fat that doesn't exist.
