  • Hey all! I'm in this to lose about 100- feel free to add me! I'm on MFP daily
  • Sheesh, you guys are harsh. She clearly stated she was looking for like-minded people. Move along if you have nothing to add to the conversation in a positive manner.
  • Hydration is key. Water usually isn't enough for me, I try and throw a vitamin water in there, too (usually the yellow one called "Energy") watered down with regular water.
  • The best advice I can give you is to know that you don't need a gym to be successful. Get workout DVDs- a variety of them so you aren't constantly doing the same thing. Go for walks or jogs. Buy fun cookbooks like Hungry Girl, and check out the website skinnytaste.com for meal ideas. Brown bag your lunch- almost nothing…
  • Hi Everyone- I'm just joining this group now (12/2/12), so I'm a bit late to the party hehe.. I started MFP last May, and was serious about it on and off. I've gotten very serious with my tracking now, and exercise has been great, but my food choices not so much. My goal is to lose 40 by June- I'll be going away with my BF…
  • I liked week 3- I finally felt like I was getting somewhere! Today (W4) was hard. Maybe harder than it should have been because I used the elliptical for 20m and walked 3 miles yesterday, plus it was 80 out when I went running. I'm not short of breath at all anymore (yay!) which means I can pace myself, but I get sore :(
  • How is everyone doing!?? I just finished W3D3 yesterday, about to hop into W4 tomorrow... I'm scared! I started looking forward, and I guess I shouldn't. Just trust the program!
  • Yes ma'am! SW: 231.8 CW: 211.2 GW: 130 I started my journey last year (july 6, actually) at 231.8. I hated how I looked, and was totally miserable. My boyfriend got me a gym membership and started working out with me. In October, my family was going camping in Zion, and I was determined to lose weight and be in better…
  • That's a really great point! I should totally keep this in mind next time I have a bad day. I didn't log on Wednesday, mostly because I don't remember exactly what I ate. If I estimated, it'd be about 2500 cals. My allowance for myself is that if I have a day I don't log everything, that's fine, but the next day I do twice…
  • My father bought me a bike trainer for Christmas- I love it because I can just pop my own bike on and off if I decide to ride outside instead of indoors! Just try to see if you have a quick release option for your rear tire, it makes it so much easier. This is the one we got:…
  • I guess I forgot to post my starting weight when I joined... oopsies. SW: 218.8 CW: 215.8 7/4 Goal: 210.8 I went away for a few days and didn't go crazy, but barely exercised and didn't hold back, either. Since I'm home, I've gotten back down (1.8 more and I'm where I was before!). My goal is to get to 210.8 by july 4th-…
  • Thanks!
  • I felt the same way and spoke with my doctor about it. He actually referred me to an episode of South Park (weird, I know) where the father of one of the kids was an alcoholic, and throughout the episode he was talking about how he couldn't control it because it was a disease and not his fault. They had people stricken…
  • Don't run- jog. You should be able to talk while jogging. Speed will come eventually for now you need to build endurance. I started out jogging about 4.2, I've only been jogging a few weeks and I can jog at 5.0 now with no distress.
  • There's a free iPhone app, not sure about other phones. There's also a website: http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml. Good luck!
  • I don't have a bikini!!! I would totally post! Will you accept a bandeau without the skirt bottom? lol
  • Wow, that's a great idea about separating the sauce from the meat! Thanks, I'll have to try that out.
  • Thanks for the shin advice! I've been off them since the race - today is day 2, and I don't plan on exercising until at least tomorrow evening, but we'll see how I feel them. I may end up just on the elliptical.
  • I tried 30DS out right before going away on vacation (maybe because I knew I wouldn't be able to go 30 days? Who knows why!) but I had to pause the video a few times. Can anyone else relate to this? Is it normal, or is it a sign that I am not up to that level yet?
  • Yeah!! I'm game for before and after photos! When you all plan on doing the shred- will this be the only exercise you do, or do you plan on incorporating other things as well?
  • All good suggestions! Does anyone know of any recipe books that specialize in cooking for one? I tend to get my recipes from allrecipes.com.
  • Count me in! I've actually run 2 5K's (my second I ran on Saturday, finished in 43:30)- I should have been doing the C25K before but I figured since I'm only jogging I should be okay, right? WRONG! I could hardly move yesterday- my shins and abs hate me. Long story short, I'll be training the right way from here on in…
  • Hi there! I need some more friends too, I haven't been on top of this, but I just got back from Miami and let's just say I'm motivated after seeing all the bathing suits haha!
  • Yes!! I have never been confidant enough to wear one, but then again I've been over 190 my entire adult life... I will tell you, though- the minute that scale hits 179, I don't care what anyone thinks, I'll be rocking mine, too!
