  • the ketogenic cookbook is $14 on amazon and there is one called Fat Bombs thats good as well. lots of yummy stuff
  • I use keto and lift hard. I always have to pump in my bcaas a few times a day and make sure to take my vitamins, otherwise I feel like my workouts suffer when im really low on glycogen. I do a fairly healthy carb up once a week, but usually burn through the carbs after only one or two days in the gym. I am just shifting…
  • I just switched to a very extreme Ketogenic Diet over the weekend, gonna be tough, but I have done it before, my goal being to try to drop as much weight before a expo I am working January 19-24 in vegas, going to try for 20% BF as much as possible. I got on a electro Bio-impedence measure machine on the 21st and came up…
  • I use mayo on all my burgers. and also add 2-3 tablespoons of either coconut or flaxseed oil to my protein shakes

  • I will say if I am lifting, I definitely wait to carb until after, But I do a protein shake before. that way I can actually gain, I lose my glycogen stupid fast, my body likes to eat the protein. so on lifting days I have to shake up before.
  • sorry, there are no lines on the macro screen pie chart, the calorie screen when i click on goal only shows my goals and not my intake. again, my issue is specifically with the pie chart on the macro screen. I tried posting this in tech support but it wouldn't let me.
  • i understand the nutrient section has a list view, but before you could specifically see your macros in a list and now you can't.
  • I'm specifically talking about the macro section. it's a damn pie chart with percentages now and it's maddening because I can't see my intake to need ratio. only a intake to percentage ratio. I personally have to see a number to number comparison or I can't really keep track of my macros. (i also have a android) point is…
  • it's funny when I went on this diet a lot of people I know were worried about my cholesterol etc. but at one point at the height of my ketosis (about 2 months in) I had a injury and had to go to the doctors, they did tests and things and were telling me how good all my numbers were and how healthy i was. They didn't know I…
  • a magnesium, supplement is important as well. I take one and it helps. also I not only use salts like garlic salt on my foods but also Potassium salt, called Lite Salt by mortons. give you a little extra potassium with a nice salty flavor. but water water water!!!! a gallon a day helps with a cramps....promise!
  • I always do my carb up after my workout. I usually do the cardio (or hiit in your case) first thing in the morning before I eat, I drink at least a half liter of water to curb hunger. I make sure to take a pre-workout with it and put BCAA's in my water for during my workout. Then I go home and have a protein shake with…
  • p.s. you can drop back into keto as soon as 1-2 days after a carb load (personally you should be carb loading one day out of the week to replenish your glycogen) I do 300-400 carbs on carb up day. You need it once a week or your asking for trouble. don't fret about it. Just don't do it more than once a week.
  • add me and email, i'm a long term keto girl and cycle it with paleo diet. ask me anything!
  • i stay at about 10% carbs for long term keto, though this diet isn't great for very long term use, going partial paleo once your where you want to be will help you continue to lose or maintain weight.
  • I've been a keto girl for a while, I love it and it has it's pros and cons, First, drink a gallon of water a day, this optimized the flushing of excess ketones and your water weight as well, second stop weighing yourself regularly, I found it better to take photos and do bodyfat percentage tests once a week (on the morning…
  • You should be drinking at least a gallon of water a day, and use salt on some of your food, it should help. (also drinking a gallon a day will drop your water weight incredibly fast)
  • I am on the ketogenic diet, and eat paleo 90% of the time anyway. as I said, no real difference between holiday and regular food for me
  • Honestly, I can't visit family for holidays (parent split when I was 3 and family lives all over the USA) and no one in my family lives in cali at all, so it doesn't make a difference for me. And I'm actually not a big holiday eater in the first place. besides cakes and pumpkin pie as a temptation. I don't normally eat…
  • 5'5" heaviest 176lbs current 137lbs and 29% Body Fat Goal (not focusing on scale) 20% Body Fat and whatever weight that puts me at (i'm thinking it will be between 120-130 lbs depending) additional goal to compete april 11, 2015 in NPC Bikini competition. add me if you want to be buddies.
  • bcaa's are not a requirement. i take them simply because they help with my weight training. but i find it easy. I do a protein shake(with 1 tbsp coconut oil for fat content) and some sausage or bacon for breakfast (recommended serving only) breakfast is usually around 5-6 carbs, I may do eggs instead of protein shake, then…
  • I have a whole folder of my favorite bodies in my computer I put them as a rotating desktop background. intermingled with fitness quote images that inspire me. Keep going! and post a update photo will ya!
  • hey check out my keto/depo convo. I have some photos, also on my profile. Your more than welcome to add me. I'm dropping significant body fat to compete in NPC next year, and always looking for support too. :)
  • a carb up is where you eat a lot of carbs (stay within your calorie limit though) in order to replenish the glycogen in your muscles. Especially if you do heavy workouts or weight lifting. I eat maybe 50-150 carbs on my carb up day. I try to stay at the lower end though as my body wont get completely thrown out of ketosis…
  • metamucil. works awesome!
  • I personally think you are looking at it the wrong way. saying "attractiveness matters" is not the mindset you should be in. "Health Matters" is where you should be, be healthy and be yourself and you will be beautiful from the inside out no matter what. I was almost 180lbs in Nov.2012 and I have been working slow and…
  • Being paleo I use coconut oil instead of butter for most everything. Right now being on the keto diet (5% carb, 65%fat, 30%protein) I supplement with it. when I have my protein shake in the morning I throw in 2 tablespoons, when i cook I use it in the pan instead of butter. It's a great product and really good for you. you…
  • LIFT if you work out at home gets some dumbbells. I don't lift super heavy, anywhere from 5lbs-15lbs with the dumbbells. and a 20-30lb body bar/ or empty barbell (you can also use 2 10lb or 2 15lb dumbells set on your shoulders) to do squats or dead lifts too. I do everyday 2 sets of 10 of all of these flys, hammer curls,…
  • switch to red wine. has significantly less calories and little to no carbs depending on type. red only though.
  • just do what i'm doing northern. KETO! it cuts body fat like mad. But make sure to take a womens multi vitamin, potassium supplement and magnesium supplement. I also take bcaa's right before my workout. and only do my carb up once a week (when i carb up though I still stay withing my 1200 calorie limit if possible, but can…
