I think that depends on how much you have to lose. Is that your total weight loss goal? If so it might be a bit optimistic. If you have a lot more than that to lose than it might be possible. It took me 6 months to lose 30 lbs, but the first 20 lbs only took 2 months and the last 10 took 4. The closer to your goal you get…

Yeah, if you are going to go a lot the pass is the way to go, but I would say $4 - $5 per class is an average drop in rate for most places. Some places in the country it is a lot higher (New York, LA, etc.).

Ice water. Only. :)

Got to agree with all those that are saying it's more about diet than exercise. Reducing my overall body fat made more of a difference than any specific exercises I ever did.

I am 5'4" and looked my best ever at 127. I am currently up to 134 and unhappy with my love handles, so I'm back to cracking down on my eating. Here's a picture of me at 130. Still so much happier than I was at 163! :) Edited - I can't get my pic to work but here's a link you can copy and paste:…

Any of those options will work, but I highly recommend using a Heart Rate Monitor. The number of calories you burn during Zumba can vary WIDELY. As an instructor I burn about 600 an hour, and I'm pretty fit. I know some people come to class and really put a lot of effort into it and probably burn as many as I do, but there…

Hi There - I'm a Zumba instructor and have a couple of different kinds I like. I'm sure you know from doing it for a while that one of the most important things is that you have very little tread so that you can slide and turn without messing up your knees and ankles. I have used Capezio Rockit Dance sneakers which are…

I am not an expert, but I believe as you get healthier it takes less effort for your body to do the same amount of work. You have less mass to move around and your heart doesn't have to work as hard. It's good that you're getting healthier, but it stinks that you don't burn as much!

I adore Zumba (which is why I teach it now) and also really love to go to spin classes when I get a chance. I love the variety that live classes offer and the social aspect. But, I'm also bad at doing stuff at home. It's just to easy to find excuses to do other things.

My reasons for eating my exercise calories have nothing to do with the actual weight loss - it's that I need to fuel my body. If I didn't eat them I would get tired and would not have the energy to keep exercising and strengthening my heart and building muscles.

I ate at my BMR while losing weight and ate my exercise calories. It might seem counter-intuitive, but for me it totally worked. I lost 30 lbs in 6 months and was never hungry or tired.
-
If I don't eat them I eventually get run down and don't have the energy to work out like I need to. I know I have to refuel my body when I exercise more.
-
Congratulations! Every pound is a pound. Great job!

I'm a Zumba instructor and I LOVE my Capezio Dansneakers. They provide support, and have very little tread so I can twist and turn as needed.

Lots of different responses here...very interesting. I am happy with my body now. That doesn't mean I think it's perfect, however I feel good about my size and my fitness level. I know that I will never ever look like a super model without surgical assistance, and I'm not interested in that. I also know that having harder…

Yeah Amy! You look fabulous and your fitness is an inspiration!

Thanks everyone! And good luck to all of you as we continue this journey.

Wow, incredible. Thanks for sharing!

I bought my heart rate monitor off Amazon.com for under $60 (and no continuing fees). It's really much more accurate than just plugging your time into the MFP formulas. How much you burned totally has to do do with how hard you were working. I thrive off of feedback so I love my HRM!

I will never give up real butter. I just have to account for it by cutting out in other areas. I've heard lots of nasty stories about all the fake stuff...but honestly for me it just comes down to taste, lol. I LOVE butter.

I like the ones called "Spa Classics". They taste more natural to me. I know they're not the healthiest thing in the world, but it's a lot better than a quarter pounder with cheese in a pinch!

This is a very complex question. There are a lot of threads already on the board that address it so it would be a good idea for you to search around and read what others have written. Personally, I have always eaten most if not all of my exercise calories. If I don't I find I don't have enough energy to keep doing what I…

I love my slow cooker - it has a permanent place on my counter and gets used at least once a week. Here's one of my favorites: Mexican Chicken: 2 Frozen Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts 1 can black beans 1 can pinto beans 1 can diced tomatoes 1 can (small) diced green chillies 1 can (small) sliced black olives 1 package…

D4L2 Today. Taking a 4 day weekend off from shreding was a bad idea. Level 2 kicked my butt again today. I can do pretty much all of it except the squat thrusts for some reason. Do you think it would be better to do the actual squat thrusts slower than they do them, or to do the beginner modification? I've been doing the…

Ugh! That sucks!!! I'm sorry! I bet you got a workout moving furniture around though!

I was going to make this same suggestion - Oatmeal and fenugreek both helped me a lot. Make sure if you do the Fenugreek you are careful about what you buy and how much actual fenugreek is in it. The capsules they sell at like Whole Foods have barely any in them and you need to take about approx 3500 mg/day to get results.…

Yes! I actually don't find these workouts entertaining at all. I'm going to stick with it this month, but I just find them boring and don't get excited to do it. I'm really more of a "class" person than a "dvd" person, so that may be it, but I just don't find it as fun as I do other things. I should have gotten up and…

I would just make sure you're eating healthy food - getting your fruits and vegetables, etc. I also believe in taking a multi-vitamin to help with immunity.

Bump - Anyone else have any recommendations? I do the Shread, but I'm already getting bored of it. I like the idea of getting in a 30 minute video first thing in the morning.
