They're right. People have been trying for ages to get rid of belly fat 'naturally'. The only way I know to specifically target an area is surgery which I would never recommend. Just keep watching the calories and keep your metabolism up by exercising, You'll eventually loose fat there too.

Fat Free Popcorn was my saving grace in the first few days until I my body adapted. If you share or store half the bag, the calorie intake is marginal comparably and you feel full and drinking lots and lots of water.

I like the flavor of honey in my tea but I do like to use agave nectar on fruits that are a little tart (berries, grapefruit, ect) instead of sugar.
