I love my New Balance Minimus. Got them last year. I have fairly large wide feet and they fit true to size for me. They are wearing well, and wash easily. Am considering getting Olympic shoes for squatting though.

Hi, I have arthritis in my lumbosacral joints. I am unable to do any lunges, ride a standard bike (recumbent is ok if I am careful ), or any twisting movements When I first started I spent a few months doing Pilates with a physiotherapist who specialised in the lumbosacral region. I found this improved my core strength and…

I developed carpal tunnel syndrome in both wrists last year. It really restricted my dumb bell chest flyes, and all overhead presses. Eventually I was unable to do deadlifts etc either as I lost grip strength. All of this was to do with having tiny wrists, and repetitive work actions and occurred between February and…

I started with an 8kg to learn the movements. Now I use a 20kg, and hope to move to 24kg in a few weeks. I use the 8kg and 12kg for long cycle swings of 100-200 swings which is my cardio effort, along with overhead presses and goblet squats . Never enjoyed cardio until I started the kettle bells

Somewhere I have a couple of articles about this. There is thought to be a link beyond coincidence and independent of medication /treatment regimes, and psychological factors. I am about to go to the gym and be tortured by the PT. when I get a chance I will hunt out the articles. I have psoriasis, which at present is mild.…

I love roasted chick peas. Unfortunately they do not love me, and I have been banned from eating them both at home and work :embarassed:

Had gall bladder out August 2010. Have lost 20kg+ since then and kept it off. No problems at all :ohwell:

I have been wearing progressive lenses for about 20 years plus. I don't notice a difference much these days when my script upgrades. I do occasionally have to be careful going down stairs for the first few days. Have had a few embarrassing accidents if I am not careful :embarassed: My partner got progressive lenses for the…

I enjoy doing power cleans. The challenge of doing them adds another element to lifting. I am lucky to have a good trainer. Mind you I am just learning technique at the moment

Hi I use kettlebells as my cardio work out. So I do long cycle of swings of about 200 - 250 2 times a week at pesent. However when my wrists are better I will go back to doing presses, deadlifts etc with them, as well as adding in another long swing cycle.. I use them as a adjunct for lifting and they have helped…

Thanks. Needed that today :flowerforyou:

I go to a small gym that seems quite normal. I do suspect I provide the main entertainment at present. I am trying to master the power clean. Apparently not very sussessfully, when i glance in the mirror and find I look more like an epileptic penguin than an in control lifter. And my trainer was muttering about snatches…

Yuk, to me goats milk tastes like a male goat smells  - goat milk cheese however is a different beasty and rather moreish. Didn't even try the yoghurt. Came across miso last night. My FIL has a pot in the fridge and being nosey I unscrewed the lid and took a big whiff. Never again:frown:

Woo hoo, congratulations :drinker:

Yep thats what I do. Upsets the young bicep studs, but works for me

I like my vibram New Balance Minimus. My toes and the vibram 5 fingers have major disagreements :ohwell:
-
Me too. Hated the 5 fingers, I have very short, slightly arthritic toes - wasn't going to happen :ohwell: The minimus though work well for me. I find them great for weights, kettlebells, and general walking. Saving up for a second pair.

Met my daughter at the gym for our regular session before work. Got there about 5:45am. Try to do this most Satudays.

I have been learning basic compound barbell lifting for the last couple of months. My trainer introduced some kettlebell exercises for me to do as a cardio exercise and a way to improve my hip drive. I do a 3 times a week lifting programme and throw in a couple of tabata kettle bell workouts. I find them a fun addition to…

:ohwell: i can relate too well to that one. That's how I broke my elbow a few years ago :embarassed:

I set my goal weight on what I was at university and felt good at. It was always on the upper ranges (or outside) of what the calculators gave me as I have small/medium frame (I am just at the bottom range of medium). I had a DEXA scan done in Jan and that showed me I have denser bones and more muscle that expected so my…

Hi Blood pressure is low for 3 main reasons: 1. Blood loss (0bviously not your problem 2.Dehydration ( I assume you both stay hydrated!) 3. Reduced volume of blood being pumped due to heart beating too quick and the pump not getting chance to fill properly between beats 4.Relaxed arteries (most likely your case), which is…

Mine was having my gall bladder out and realising how much fat the surgeon had to rummage in to find it. Walked 4km the day I got out of hospital and have lost a total of 20kg + in the two and a half years since and kept it off.

mmm....not as much as this one loves whisky...which then makes me want to eat pizza and everything else in the fridge...so maybe my other half was trying to sabotage me last night after all
