  • Hi, I'm 25 and on metformin for PCOS. I've worked my way up from a single 500mg in the morning to 3 x 500mg, one during/after each meal. My tummy has settled right down now which is great. I avoid fizzy drinks now as they make me really bloated! Well, more than usual. All this talk of low carb is tempting me to give it a…
  • I've pulled out also! I have really learned the lesson of not weighing in daily, but I just needed to know and curiosity got the best of me :( I've lost 1.2kgs which is good. I'll def. only be weighing in weekly from now on! Very worthwhile challenge, and am going to stick it out the rest of the month without weighing in.
  • Some progress pics: I'm 5'4 Have lost 22 pounds, from 230 -208. Getting there slowly, and I like to think that I am the perfect apple shape! haha
  • Like Razique said: carbs uses 23% of it's energy to convert to body fat. Leaving 770 cals of fat (85 gms) fat uses 3% of it's energy to convert to body fat. Leaving 970 cals of fat (107 gms) So, (by my shoddy calculations and referring to my physiology text book), you would gain more by eating the 1000 cals of fat. 22…
  • I was VERY tempted this morning! But there's no way i'm giving in now I've made a promise to myself. I feel as if I've put on as well... it must just be bloating though, my cals have been fine... :)
  • I'm in exactly the same boat! Weighed in at 208 on April 1st so definitely aiming to get under 200. I've got some size 16 but I think that might be different to US size... 'cos all my weight is in my belly and the button definitely won't do up for about another 10 kilos :P Good luck to us! ps. Today I REALLY wanted to step…

  • I can't imagine anyone so highly motivated just to get a title that they suffer through not just a medical degree, but an entire medical career! The learning doesn't stop once you graduate, only increases. I'd like to meet anyone who has the will power to go through all of those hours of training and pretending to care…
  • Yes definitely a difference :) We have a similar body shape! I posted some progress pictures a few days ago if you want to see (I'm at 10kg loss now) Keep it up!!
  • Incredible, congratulations! This is my no.1 goal!
  • You make very healthy choices which is great! I would suggest swapping some of the fruit for some healthy fats.... almonds, walnuts, peanut butter on rice thins. Or even cheese. You are always falling under on daily fat. It's been shown that a certain amount of healthy fats help with satiety (keeping full) and in turn…
  • How's everyone going? It's day 3 in Aus already... 10% of the way through! Whoop! haha It's funny 'cos in my head I'm imagining that I haven't lost weight, when I probably have. Man I'm looking forward to my clothes fitting better :)

  • Thanks guys :) I went ok today, although I did feel pretty sick afterwards (which unfortunately is completely normal for me :( doc said it could take about a year for my body to adjust to exercise!) I've been going well with weight loss so far, I've been exercising here and there but not frequently and intensely enough.…
  • Brilliant! That is exactly how I feel about tattoo's ;)
  • Great idea klbaierwalter with the photos! I'm also after low/no $$ rewards as I'm a poor student! I was also thinking... maybe measurements using a tape? Or maybe this falls into the category of scales? hmm food for thought :P

  • I weigh in after cheat days, it's ok because you know there might be a gain because of the cheat day. Don't be scared of the scales going up, it will happen. If you weigh in once a week you never know, one cheat day shouldn't make too much difference! And you'll see a bigger change next week anyway (unless there are more…
  • Hi everyone I'm Amy, I'm from Aus, 25 years old, 164cm (5 foot 4) and as of yesterday 94.5kgs! (208 pounds). It's morning over here and I really had to force myself not to weigh in! I do it daily when I'm watching my diet, which is a bit controlling as it does set my mood for the day. Sometimes even if I lose weight I feel…
  • You know what? I'm in ! Which is crazy for me - I've been weighing myself daily! Can't imagine not going a month but I'm here to stretch myself :) WIll be harder than not going over calorie limit I reckon!
  • Hi Tahlia! I'm from Aus too :) I'll try and help motivate you if you like, I'm pretty new to having friends on here but I'm finding it great to help with motivation. Even though I did have a nasty blow out day today. Look forward to sharing the journey with u! Amy p.s. I'm 25 but like to think i'm still young at heart ;)
  • In the end it doesn't matter if you log everything or not. Your body is the ultimate log book! It just depends on what works for you. I personally find that if I don't log one lolly, then maybe the next day I'll have two and not log. Then 5. Then I'll log it when I eat a packet and think, hang on, I could have nipped this…
  • Thank you! Wow, just realised how messy my room is... please excuse!
