  • I use the Swimovate poolmate HR it counts laps, strokes etc etc plus gives a calorie count though in my opinion its over estimating calories used.
  • A Heart Rate Monitor is no necessarily the answer I have Swimovate Pro and Polar HRM's and they differ wildly in calorie results with the Swimovate giving more Calories than the Polar.
  • As a 65 year old woman I love it when I swim past the men who pose before they get in the pool then swim breast stroke with their heads out of the water.

  • I would agree, with Riftknight keep to breast stroke for the triathlon. yyu get the bug you can focus on learning to swim freestyle later. It has taken me quite a while and lots of practise to become truly confident at freestyle. Have fun.
  • Boots sell own brand Swim and Gym shampoo and also Conditioner. They are great and stopped my hair from getting damaged. I swim two to three times each week. They are good on holiday as well.
