  • I was the same as you- I was so anxious about running outside. But the only bit of advice I can give you is to just TRY it. I sucked it up in May this year and went for a run outside. And since then I've done 3 miles 5 times a week varying my runs. I recently tried to run the same distance on a treadmill because it was soo…
  • It might be that your 2lb gain is just water retention? I gain 2lbs whenever I come on, and once I'm off my weight drops down almost straight away. Why not consult the calorie counting on MFP to check how much crisps of choccy you could have before you're nearing your intake goal? Then you can have it and still be on…
  • It's amazing! I can't vouch for cardio kickboxing because I'm apart of a martial arts academy where we spar each other in every session, so it's a very much different to cardio kickboxing. But it's great, especially when I'm sparring one of the 6ft men! I tell you, kicking somebody in the head at that height takes some…
  • Depends if you're going to a kickboxing cardio class or an actual martial arts training in kickboxing. They are different things I think. I go kickboxing but it's not a part of a gym and it's not based solely on cardio, we do strength training, flexibility training, kick technique and contact sparring. I think the gym…
  • I suffered with shin splints when I first started jump rope and running. My kickboxing sensei simply gave me a mat to stand on when I'm doing jump rope and 30DS. I didn't rest my shins, I simply used the softness of the mat to build up the muscle around the shin splints, and after 2 weeks they stopped hurting. I worked…
  • I add it into whatever I'm cooking, it's next to no calories and packed full of nutrients. I put it in my curries, fajita mix or steam it and eat with fish. Mix it in with scrambled egg for breakfast too or just use it as salad.
  • I use the jump rope every week I love it! As a warm up to kickboxing we do 3minute sets 4 times with 1minute rest inbetween. I do these same sets at home, I go onto the back patio of my house and skip for 30-40mins, (3min sets) It's great, it builds strength in your calves but it's also a good all round workout. I used to…
  • I'm UK too, from Huddersfield in West Yorkshire... Hi everyone!
  • I have this problem too but when I'm running, and when it happens I just stop and stretch my calves and circle my ankles. If it affects you actually being able to exercise then I'd go to see a doctor, if not, work out what relieves it and just do that.
