  • I'm always really iffy about the calories that people state they've burned.... unless they've used a HRM. 660 calories doing yoga? mm, I don't think so. If I do a 5kms run (up hills at about a 6min per km speed) which takes 30minutes, I burn about 300-350calories. (5'3, 65kgs). Don't compare yourself to other people. Just…
  • yup! If they're the wrong shoe, your legs align incorrectly (if you're pigeon toed and roll in, they'll make you roll in more and vice versa) and it puts pressure on your ankles, knees and back. People with bad knees and the like often have the wrong shoe. So simple.
  • You can pay $25 at Steve Nash in Vancouver I wouldn't pay more than $15 and even then, I'm outraged and expect a first class place ;)
  • You drive 3.5hours to and from work and work 10.5hours a day?!? I hope you are paid in gold. that's 60% of your working day dedicated to work. I'd start running in your lunchbreak (instead of walking) or doing the p90x then - leave work 1/2 an hour later to fit a shower in if you can. Or you and husband could exercise…
  • I finally stopped lying to myself about what I was eating. I don't like recording my diet on this site as it makes me depressed and give up when I go over (even though everything I eat is generally healthy) so I record when I eat something not so good in an excel along with the exercise I do. It annoyed me because I could…
  • Do you think if I or someone wrote up a quick daily food plan that would help? I always found planning out the day's food meant I stayed in control of calories (dont look at my diary, I don't update it any more)
  • My brother and mum told me I looked like a drug addict once at my lowest weight of 53kgs at 5'3. Unfortunately (but also fortunately) I lose weight off my arms first and my upper body gets really really skinny but my *kitten* and thighs don't get the memo. So even though I knew my arms were too skinny, I needed to keep…
  • Here's something that will blow your mind: Saturated fats are actually good for you and essential for healthy hair, skin and brains. Trans fats are BAD BAD BAD. (but we all knew that)
  • 3 months later, have you been going in the weights room? I was thinking today, the only reason you know people are staring at you is if you are staring at other people. If you think people are intimidating, ask them to show you how to do a certain exercise to work out your butt or whatever. It'll make them feel good that…
  • you shouldn't bloat. Are you sure you don't have a food intolerance? I found out I'm lactose intolerance through switching milk to almond milk - I used to bloat SO bad, hardly at all now. I've heard the more water you drink, the less you pee (after a while, once your body is used to it). This is what I've found. When I up…
  • I've actually watched 1 or 2 documentaries lately that say low fat dairy is worst for you and you should only have full fat dairy. Also read that saturated fat is GOOD for you and is essential for a healthy brain. Oh US government, the crap you weave.
  • I've stopped using this site, occasionally Ill log on to see if I can find a recipe or whatever. A few people added me as a friend to begin with. I lost motivation and stopped using this site and where it says 'wrecktechno hasn't logged on for 2 months or whatever. She might need some encouragement', my 'friends' wouldn't…
  • I couldn't care less, in fact I prefer it when there are tonnes of guys in there. I feel good knowing that I know what I'm doing and having big muscley guys around makes me work harder to prove that I know what I'm doing.
  • You gotta start somewhere. Get a PT for a couple sessions to show you how to do it (or ideally once a week or fortnight to keep you on track and constantly give you new weights to do). Open your diary so we can see what you're eating. When you do cardio, are you working hard? and are you using a heart rate monitor to…
  • I'm 5'3 and weigh 137ish pounds (62kgs) and I have my calories set at 1200 (lightly active). (Having said that I am ALWAYS over calories no matter how healthy I eat and then I binge or get depressed.) I'm starting to think that maintaining healthy living is a lot more attainable than calorie counting and being under a…
  • I would say that instead of running 3 miles, start doing sprints. In a nearby park, set two markers (a jumper and your water bottle for example), sprint the distance. Jog back. Do 10 pushups. Sprint the distance. Jog back. Do 15 situps/crunches. Sprint the distance. Jog back. Do 10 burpees (or other exercise). Keep this up…
  • ooooh lordy!!! rit reowl!
  • Yeh I don't understand how you know it's not the other two. And I also don't get why you texted him instead of asking him face to face, especially if he was only upstairs.
  • I don't think it does because of its harddrive system. :( It works with Nano and Touch. Sorry.
  • Get yourself a personal trainer who will teach you all about nutrition and exercise. As they say, you can give a man a fish and feed him for a day. Teach him to fish and you feed the entire village.
  • Ive been craving lime green lately but can't find it anywhere. My sister had 'my chihuahua bites' (OPI) which was awesome and I've been looking for it but can't find it. I have silver polish and silver glitter Nail Inc ones which I pair. When I bought them, the salesgirl was SO excited for me and with reason. My nails are…
  • I have a polar HRM and I use the Nike+ shoe sensor with my ipod for distance. Just make sure you calibrate it correctly.
  • At 53, I was too skinny. 56kgs is about right for me. I lose weight on my face/arms/chest more than my bum, legs and stomach so was too gaunt at 53, even though my legs etc were a bit too big. It depends where you hold your weight.
  • Gosh, my new shoes won't even need to be Choos. Louboutins, Manolos, Brian Atwoods. This is why I shouldn't watch Sex And The City. how sexy are these shoes!!! http://us.christianlouboutin.com/shoes-1/special-occasion/fifi-100mm-13687.html but $3395 us?!?!? No way.…
  • Advil. Take big deep breaths. Hot water bottle on your back. Go for a walk/jog. The gorging is all in your head. Have an apple and keep to your eating plan. DONT GORGE. You will regret it
  • 12 below, 10ish up top. I think you should fold the top of your shorts down or wear lower cut bottoms, high waisted shorts always make you look bigger than you are.
  • The thing is that if you bought a chicken, a lettuce, a bottle of milk, potatoes, bread, oil etc, you wouldn't have food just for one meal. You'd have food for 2 family meals. Of course, Australia is ***** expensive for groceries but so is take away food.
  • Out of habit, I drank one cup of coffee with breakfast every day for 3 months then stopped the coffee and wondered why I got headaches. Withdrawal that quick which scared the **** out of me. oh and I used to find a double shot of coffee before a field hockey game would guarantee me Best Player every single time. But then I…
  • oh my god, do you honestly think I am going to believe that the Daily ****ing Mail is a widely regarded research organisation and you should follow its statements to a tee? I thought it was interesting, offers a viewpoint I'd never seen written anywhere before. Whether it's gospel or not, did I SAY it was gospel?!? Cheeses…
