Like most things in life, you get out of a workout what you put into it. 30 minutes of exercise is not going to help you break even if you're used to doing 2 hours of similar exertion. I agree with the posters above who say to incorporate resistance into your workout. Most gyms have personal trainers available too, to help…

1 - You're not addicted, you just like it. That's okay. 2 - There ARE studies that link diet soda consumption to increased appetite, and uncontrolled appetite can lead to weight gain. Work on your willpower, and it should be less of an issue. A no-calorie beverage in and of itself is not the culprit for your weight. You…

I needed to customize my macros precisely, and to do so I upgraded. It's absolutely worth it for that one feature, for me.

Please don't give this advice. It's ignorant and it's not healthy for someone OVER 200lbs. Thanks. OP, if you eat 1200 calories when you're starting to lose weight, you will have no where to go when your weight loss stalls and you need to reduce calories to keep progressing down the scale. Additionally, should you drop…

THIS, however, is a great post. I'd follow this information for your purpose of fat loss without losing your muscle.

All this, this is SILLY. Ignore it for accurate information.

You really shouldn't have back pain if your form is correct. Lighten the weight until it stops hurting. What's your trainer's certification? Some trainers are better than others, and should tell you the same.
-
Bring your own premade portioned food, only eat that.

Cannot emphasize enough how much you will benefit from the guidance of a certified personal trainer. Entering the weight room for the first time is GREAT and you'll be amazed at the progress you can make QUICKLY, but using proper form, having a proper program, and having professional guidance will help you progress (and…

Eat more. Stop trying to accomplish too much too fast and set more reasonable goals. Eat more.

And we could have been spared all that (so sorry you went through it, too!) if OP had just listened to my first post, which covered this. ;)

Agreed, but they were responding to the OP, who is new to lifting and really isn't in that category. OP, any flat shoes are pretty much fine. You don't need to spend a bunch of money on expensive lifting shoes.

They'll make you pee and poop. They don't help you lose fat.
-
You'd need to call that particular facility to find out what that terminology means. Language from gym to gym can differ.

In my experience, I get a better workout if I eat a combination of carbs and protein (keep the fat low!) before my weights workouts. Every time.

Your guy brosciences you? NOOOOOOOOoooooo!!1 ;) That's cute, though.

piccollage is another ap I use. Super effective and free.

No one here is going to support your plan. It's unhealthy. It's not what MFP is about, and frankly I think your reasons for doing it aren't healthy, either. A monetary gain that motivates you to flirt with fasting and court an eating disorder is a poor motivation to begin what could be a positive change in your life. I'm…

You're already eating too little, if you're exercising and over 5 foot tall. Read the stickies (permanent links) on the top of all the forums.

Found a new one today: People who yell across the cardio area from one machine to their "friend" several machines away carrying on a prolonged conversation. Dude, wanna talk? Get off your machine and go talk to your victim. Don't holler so everyone else has to hear your inane chatter about the game no one cares about from…

Eat a larger meal preworkout, include protein and carbs, try not to allow fat in the immediate pre or post workout. You'll notice a difference.

Japanese food. Sashimi/sushi. Muscle Maker Grill. Anyplace that serves salad to which you can add lean steak or chicken breast or fish and do dressing on the side or bring your own. . .so. . . almost anywhere.

NO.

I aggressively don't let line jumpers in... In traffic or in line at theme parks. . . "Oh, my friends are up ahead." "Bummer, guess they don't care enough to wait for ya. Back o' the line, buster." (Damn kids.) I have also started putting "Please don't park like an asshat." signs on cars that deserve it. An annoyance…

Fail to plan, plan to fail. ;) Bring your own food, or have a big glass of water when faced with treats, instead. Willpower.

If you're 260 lbs and are consistently losing weight on 1400 calories a day, you're going to need to invest in cosmetic surgery to deal with all the extra loose skin you'll have by the time you're ready to consider a bulk. Aim instead for a loss of no more than1lb per week (yes, drastically increase your caloric intake)…

Given your pregnancy and your hormonal issues, I'd advise you to stay off the forums and talk directly with your doctor for advice.

Metabolic DAMAGE can occur, not a complete shut-down. If you're not extreme dieting and doing hours of cardio a day (like many amateur bikini competitors are "coached" to do by disreputable coaches) you're probably not at risk.

UGH, apologies, I just checked out your profile. Spread that water out throughout the day. Have a glass as soon as you wake up. Have another immediately before bed. Have one or two with every meal, and keep a water bottle with you to sip from throughout the day. You'll hit that goal in no time.

Spread it out over the course of the day. I drink at least 36 oz in a one hour workout, so maybe work out harder?
