I am at my normal weight (I just don't like it, haha) and I have been exercising since I was a teenager (I'm 29). I've had this problem for a long time. I worry about it because it seems like it would be putting stress on my heart. I have no cardiac issues or anything that I know of.

Idk what you eat before you work out, but that would be my suggestion as well. I don't drink a lot right before I work out, but I stay hydrated throughout the day. I had back surgery and I ate a small amount every few hours. It keeps your metabolism going strong so that you can eat without feeling deprived but still maintain weight. Hard to lose weight with an injury but will definitely keep you from gaining.
