  • I LOVE that I'm not the only one with small hands. :) Why does that always make one feel better to have company? :)
  • Hahaha. Awesome. I should probably do more while I'm at home. I will definitely just practice holding those stupid heavy dumbells. What a pain. :) Okay...I like your term. Proportinally challenged it is! lol.
  • Okay...thanks for the tip! On my way to score some chalk!! :)
  • Hi Everyone! Been lurking for a while and thought I'd finally commit to posting a bit more. You're all very inspiring. I started Stronglifts after NROLFW was taking me over 1.5 hours to do in Stage 4. Couldn't handle all the one legged stuff. Just get me in, let me lift things up and put them down and I'll be on my way!!…
  • Yay!!!:drinker: That's a great NSV!!! Gotta say that your calves are looking much more toned in the recent pics, too!! Great work and another big Yay for eating!!!! :flowerforyou:
  • Did RESET from late August until now. haha. Actually, did try and cut a bit (was eating generally 2300+ cals/day and in late Oct, moved to trying to get in around 2000/day). Am down 2lbs and holding at 2000cal/day. Don't plan on going down too much more. The key is the heavy lifting!
  • First off, great job! You're definitely in the right mindset to make some changes!! I can't say I'm any kind of strict low GI eater, but I am finding that trying to stick to eating my proper amout of protein (around average 120g or more) is helping me keep my sugar addictions at bay. I still eat the odd little mini…
  • Agree with the other posters^^. I used the BMF for over a year and it just didn't seem to give me accurate numbers either. I maintained but didn't manage to lose much. First few questions:...are you drinking enough water every day? I drink around 3 Litres/day. That could be one of the reasons why you aren't seeing a loss…
  • Great job! Love Bob!

  • Congratulations!! That's awesome.
  • Yay! Good work! Always good to hear positive stories. Cheers!
  • Congratulations!! You deserve it! Thank you for always sharing and being so helpful here. :flowerforyou:
  • I switched to a different intermediate program, after about 6 months. Have you got fractionals? You really will need either fractionals for your upper body lifts (bench and overhead press - and personally I like them for EVERYTHING) or you will need to give yourself a little more loose of a schedule on those. I'd suggest…

  • Thanks for posting this topic. I am just on week 3 of 5x5, but been wondering about Madcow. Did you guys just start it after maxing out on Stronglifts? Just not sure how to go about it. Feel like I'm going to max out pretty quick on overhead presses (at 60 lbs next time) so will do my 3x and see if I can push through. :)

  • Medhi's requests bug me so much. I hate how he insists on your answers and replies. I wouldn't join the inner circle. There is much help here on this group AND it is for women. Unlike his male directed approach, I like to know what other women are achieving and what kind of results they are getting. Don't get me wrong, I…
  • I did the same thing. 1200-1400-1650-2300. :) Just do the RESET and be that much further ahead. You won't need to worry about cheating anymore. I would have been a month further along if I had started reset and just went with it. I did change my macros though. I have carbs set at 35/40%, protein at 30/35% and fats at 30%.…
  • I lift MON, WED, FRI. I do some LISS 2-3x/ week. Will increase more LISS in December when I'm looking to try and lean out more.

  • Are you doing full body workouts 6 days a week or splits? That's a lot of weightlifting. If you want to change body comp, you have to lift heavy. It is really important to include rest days to let the muscles repair and grow. You really should be pushing as hard as you can each strength workout to get gains. In order to…
  • Pretty sure things have shifted. Will measure this weekend. :)
  • There is no possible way that you gained an actual 7 lbs in three weeks. If you were maintaining at 2100 before upping, then we can assume a 400 cal surplus of cals if 2100 was MAYBE your TDEE. So in 3 weeks of 21 days x 400 cals = 8400 "extra" cals which would translate into only 2.5 pounds of ACTUAL weight. So...…
  • I just posted a rambling thread because I was so pumped to have finally lost some weight. lol. I'm 40, 5'4" and at 170lbs after eating at RESET for the last 12 weeks. :) I couldn't bring myself to CUT 20% because it seemed like so little food at 1890 cals. haha. Who would have thought that 4 months ago??? My date for…
  • Definitely go to the free weights. You'll never look back. :) There is a great NROLFW group here on MFP as well as a Stronglifts for women. I did the first 2 stages of NROLFW and couldn't commit the time anymore, so switched to Stronglifts and am starting week 3 (I did enjoy stage 1 of NROLFW, though) Stronglifts is…
  • Ummm...I WISH things that were bad for me didn't taste as good. Some things I used to love taste too sweet or I just might not want them, but other times...LOOK OUT, get out of the way or I'll bite your hand off!
  • Thanks, everyone! :flowerforyou: @Amanda...I know how frustrating it is to start out. I was finally tired of doing it the same low cal way and not getting anywhere. I had faith and this group has bar far been my biggest motivator. People here are extremely motivating. (@Raynn...big thanks to you) Who knows how much I will…
  • Totally know what you mean! Have you looked at the Eat More to Weigh Less group? It's been my savior. :)
  • I just made an extremely long thread because I have come out on the other side of RESET. Maybe it will help you. :)
  • Congrats on reaching a wonderful point in your journey. Looking forward to having that feeling!
  • I'm still with you! :drinker: Last night finished stage 1, workout B week 5! EMTWL as well. Just finished week 5 of reset. At 2300 TDEE. Love eating again. So fun to try and move the heavy weights.
  • Very tough indeed. I would probably tell her I'll donate in her name but not through her cause. And I like what holleysings says, talk to her and if she's not ready to hear the EMTWL approach, then just explain you're concerned about her weight loss choice but believe in her cause for helping cancer. It's a fine line...and…
  • Wise words from a very wise woman. :smooched:
