  • You honestly just have to do it. When someone else once said that on a post it aggravated me, but it really is the truth. The few times I have skipped my morning workout, I either A: don't do it (or) B: resent that I have to do it in the afternoon when I'm exhausted. I tried putting my alarm across the room and that just…
  • I did 30 Day Shred and Ripped in 30. I find 30 Day Shred to be more difficult, but that could have been that I was seriously out of shape when I started 30DS. I lost 3 inches off hips and waist and 1 inch off of thighs and arms. I only lost about 5 lbs, but saw such a drastic difference in endurance and lost decent inches.
  • Hmmm... thanks for the clarification. I definitely see the difference now. This is the beginning of what I hope to be a lifelong journey. Before this, I thought doing the elliptical for an hour was sufficient for my exercise needs. This endurance/strength training addition is very new to me and I'm learning as I go along.…
  • @jahardin: I just googled..... CLX/Turbofire hybrid by Janelle Summers. There are a bunch of links. Apparently it was only meant for Beachbody coaches, but with the wonder of the internet, it quickly got around.
  • Thanks everyone! I really appreciate the input. I don't understand why someone wouldn't consider Jillian strength training. I have seen a major difference in my muscle definition, strength, and endurance by using this program. Could someone explain why it's not considered strength? I thought any program that was used to…
  • THANKS SO MUCH!!!! I swapped out a Jillian cardio for Turbofire disc and it really kicked my butt. But I really want the strength training I have been getting with Jillian. The one reply I received on the Beachbody site suggested I do it separately first, then as a hybrid. I'm so impatient... I want the results from both…
  • Anyone? I'm having the hardest time getting a response to this, even on the Beachbody site. Can anyone help me!?! :)
  • Although Ripped in 30 came out after 30 day shred, I thought 30 Day Shred was much more difficult. I also received better results from 30DS. I lost 4 inches on my waist and hips, 2 inches on my thighs, and .5 on my arms. I think I lost like 5 pounds but I firmed up a lot and it set a great foundation for everything else…
  • I understand there's no way one can say with certainty, but I'd just like opinions or sharing of similar experiences. No I didn't eat 14,000 calories, but I'm also creating a deficit to lose 1 pound a week and that's not happening so I don't feel that the math is always the only thing to take into account.
  • I don't know if you are a Jillian fan or not, but she has recently discovered the benefits of Yoga and has a bunch of books about it under her recommendations on her website. I wish I had more to offer you. I also am fascinated by Yoga and all of the physical and spiritual benefits that come from it. However, I am so…

  • Then don't reply, that's not helpful!
  • I feel very blessed in that regard. My fiance has been amazing and ober supportive. He too has a high metabolism and can eat whatever he wants, but because he's an athlete, he values health and fitness. He completed The 30 Day Shred and Ripped in 30 with me even though his friends made fun of him and asked him how he was…
  • @Micharb: I feel like I can't get an accurate understanding of how many calories I should be eating. Jillian's website says 1600, myfitnesspal says 1250 (which is too extreme to me), and other calorie calculators I've used have said anywhere from 1200-1800. I try to vary the number of calories I'm eating each day as long…
  • Thanks, I try to tell myself it's normal and to just keep going. However, I just wanted to get other opinions from people on the same journey. My fiance is my support system, but he loses weight so easily and never gains an ounce from our cheat days. Thanks your post made me feel better. It's not about quick results, but…
  • It all depends on what I eat. However, I can't really predict it. Once I ate sushi and gained 7 pounds, but I figured it was because it was a sodium and carb heavy meal. Last Saturday I ate a bacon cheeseburger, french fries, 3 potato skins, and self serve frozen yogurt. That was my food intake for the day. The next day I…
