  • In the Dukan book, he mentions that an extra oat bran galette can help if you are extra hungry or having cravings. As long as you are drinking enough water (to keep the digestive process going) I think you can do more oat bran.
  • I think so - i fill up my 32 ounce mug 2-3 times a day, water with meals, a bottle goes along when I walk CharleyTheWonderdog. I do feel thirst sometimes so that might be part of it. Thanks to all of you for the tips.
  • Try different spices and herbs than you used to use. I also season my eggs and some meats and fish with pico de gallo from the produce section, Paul Newman's peach or mango salsas or some fat-free salad dressings. It seems when you first think about eating only meat that it will be hard, but keep trying to have some…
  • How do you make the galette? I would love to pretend I am eating a cookie.
  • Your dressing sounds really tasty. I am hooked on Panera's Poppy Seed. It's fat free and works on salad, hard cooked eggs, turkey, chicken, whatever. It helps with my sweet tooth which has always beena big obstacle for me. Keep up the good work!
  • The Confluence Area in North County is a great place to walk, hike, bike or run. I am there at least 5 mornings a week with Charley the Wonderdog for at least two miles. Check it out!
  • 5 weeks in and I'm down 13 lbs. Yay me!!! I want to lose another 12 or so so I am halfway there already. I don't really miss the pasta, bread and potatoes that much either. I'm a lifer too. This has been so much easier and more effective than Weight Watchers, which I failed at three times and any other thing I have tried.
  • Congratulations!!! I get happy on veggie days too.
  • Good morning, Dukan-ers. I wanted to share a wierd thing with you. I was craving toast the other night, so after an hour or two of obsessive toast fantasies, I made one slice with butter and peach preserves. GUESS WHAT? I did not enjoy it. Not at all. So I think I am getting past the lack of carbs on this plan. That's good…
  • This sounds yummy. I add cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla but the cloves sound good too.
  • I agree with Zylahe - just a bite or two will ease the craving. I've had the same situation twice in the last month with my weekly knit-night. If you just have a bite or two then get to the fruit, you will not feel deprived and will still be able to stay on track. Denying yourself the things you love may work short-term,…
  • I weighed myself everyday on Attack and it was SO motivating! I lost 1.8 pounds the first day and another 1.5 the next day, and a total of 5 in three days. So consider it - might help you stick to it!
  • I use 2 TBS of the greek yogurt and 2 TBSof the oat bran and get a "cookie" or pancake about 7 inches in diameter. I cut it into wedges with a pizza cutter and snack on it throughout the day.
  • I've been losing all over as well, but my shape has been changing since I passed 40. Sounds like you need to go shopping and find some new clothes that flatter your new smaller and different shape! Congrats on your great success and go have some fun!!
  • I'm also doing 1/1, but I'm thinking about 1 PP and 2 PV. I've cheated a couple of times with grapes (GRAPES! cheating with fruit. Who would ever have guessed that grapes would be a cheat) and having an extra fruit yogurt to get through the PP days. Let me know if any of you have done 1/2 and how it worked.
  • I am drinking A TON of water anyway because it is so incredibly hot here in St. Louis. 108 today. that is just wrong. I did fine at HuHot yesterday - three glasses of water with my chicken/veggie plate, light on the less sugar sauces. Scale was the same this morning, but I expect it to drop after my PP day today.
  • Thanks. I'll check out the nutrition on the website before we go. Scale seems stuck this week - I guess I need to realize that I am not going to drop weight every day like I did on Attack.
  • Oh, honey, please DO NOT beat yourself up!!! A family friend in the hospital is so stressful and of course the only thing to eat handy is junk from the vending machine. You were there for your friend and to help support the others who were worried, so you need to not worry about food. Try again tomorrow! It's not like…
  • I have 2 eggs and I think center cut bacon is fine, or chicken or turkey bacon if you like. Just cook till crisp to get some of the fat out of it.
  • You guys are doing great!!! I did attack for three days and lost 5.2 pounds. Success is a great motivator. Keep it up. Having a buddy helps.
  • I've been using peach salsa (Newman's Own) and mango salsa I get from my grocery's produce section as garnish on fish, hard-boiled eggs and chicken breast. Also try some different salad dressings. Panera's dressings don't have high-fructose corn syrup, some are low or no-fat and the poppyseed and fuji apple flavors add…

  • Breakfast is usually 2 scrambled eggs with pico de gallo as garnish, a glass of fat free milk and sometimes a couple of bites of the galette. Lunch - yogurt or some chicken or tuna, water or a diet white soda, dinner is again chicken sometimes a steak or a tilapia filet. I'm in Cruise now so I'm getting veggies. Just…
  • I always consider it a victory to stay the same during that week. Good for you!
  • You're making it at home, so you are in control of your ingredients. No artifical flavors, colors or preservatives. Whole wheat brad like that sounds awesome. Enjoy it!! :flowerforyou:
  • I've been on Dukan for a week wih 3 days of Attack and have lost 6 pounds which is a huge motivator. I have had very few cravings and just keep telling myself that I can have that later on. You'll be okay if you just stay on the plan. The weight loss is a true motivator. Good luck!!!
  • Dr. D says all spices and herbs are ok to make food taste good. Also chopped onion as garnish are fine. I put a spoonful of pico de gallo on my scrambled eggs in the morning to make them tastier. Good luck! I'm in day 2 of Cruise and have lost 4.4 lbs since I started.
  • Thanks for the encouragement. I added 1/4 teaspoon each of vanilla, nutmeg and cinnamon this morning, 1/2 tsp of Truvia and 1 TBS of water. Much better. I cooled the pancake and cut it into wedges for snacking on today. I wonder why no bananas? They have lots of potassium and if they are not overripe have an enzyme that…
  • I lost 1.8 pounds on day 1!! SW - 177.6 GW - 155 I am very excited to see a loss in 1 day that would normally take a week. I am doing Attack for three days and am looking forward to adding veggies back in.
  • Thanks. The recipe sounds good. I'll give it a try.
  • I love donuts. I'm going to miss donuts. Sigh. Thanks for the giggle!!!!
