  • yeah definitely, there are a few moves that take up some space, but you can easily modify and do it in a smaller spot. I 100% say go for it. such an amazing program.
  • hm. I hate them all, but the one I love to hate the most is the max interval I think. whichever one of them it is that has that torturous segment of ski abs, push up jacks, in outs, and oblique pushups as a single move. pure torture.
  • and I definitely second the idea for the foam roller.
  • hey, I had a very similar problem to this, but it wasn't from squats but rather the lunges in p90x. it could definitely be the problem if you are not using the right form. the legs and back day and plyometric days were killing my knees. In particular I was letting my knee come too far forward... I hope this helps! also, I…
  • one of my most favorite shows to watch while I work out is the walking dead. I get all doomsday nerdy as I watch, "oh, i'll be ready"
  • thank you tons for posting this question! im currently on the same pursuit. ... and hopefully opening a studio at some point.... eventually lol
  • Yeah, I had my best results ever doing insanity. Of course I put some weight back on when I fell off with nutrition, but insanity showed the best fat burn I've done yet
  • Haha I'm one of those bad people who don't end up logging their exercises. :/ your best bet is likely to invest in a heart rate monitor though.
  • Its one id my favorite workouts and still normally do two phase 2 workouts each week. Its a pain in the *kitten* but you will see you get better every week!
  • Yeah that's the one exactly. I have a pretty good idea how to just do what I need to at this point, but there is something nice about following something even if its fairly arbitrary! :p
  • ive not done it, but I have been thinking about it up. any tips? you said you have an 8 hour eating window, but how do you normally determine when to start/stop
  • definitely this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oBVK4BR4b4k
  • when I first started p90x I was pretty much in the worst shape of my life, but that got fixed really quick. I totally recommend it, and will still occasionally toss in a dvd from time to time still.
  • awesome job! thank you!
  • haha, id love to grab a variety of tires and sledgehammers, but im constrained to a fairly tight living space with no yard to speak of though it would be a lot of fun.
  • I've done pyramids a few times, normally with only one particular move though. The multiples of fives sounds both awful and so fun. I might have to do some work with that. I still love doing insanity and following along with video, but this has helped me come up with a bunch of ideas which would be great especially in that…
  • my biggest complaint with this thread is the word designed lol.
  • Thank you all for all the input. I'm going to kind of work with the different ideas and tweek it as I get more experience to maximize my results. In particular I want to tryout different work and rest times. With the insanity workouts you end up doing more like 3 minutes work and 30 seconds rest. I've done the 20/10 and…
  • Insanity Max cardio! And going to hit the bike and treadmill later
  • I can understand that mentality. I fell off with my training a while back and working with a personal trainer the last month has been so good for me giving that extra push. Good luck and keep posting!
  • Very interesting article but it doesn't really discourage me. I'm interested in the HIIT stuff and have definitely had good results. Though it does help express why I feel I'd be a cheater doing 4 minutes because I would not put out the type of maximal work they say requires a proper "Tabata". I will likely continue to do…
  • im sure you can find a bunch of relatively easy dumbbell workouts just by hopping on youtube. my first work with them that I thought was pretty great came from the mens health abs diet book of which im sure you can find a list of the moves online somewhere. id definitely pick some up, but you would be surprised how much…
  • I have not done either, but I have done a few of chalenes turbo fire workouts and I did p90x, my father did power 90 and had a good and time with it and some pretty positive results. id likely lean towards power 90 and then maybe follow through with that to p90x. and if you can just keep stepping it up from there. of…
  • I dud insanity, p90x, P90x2, and tapout xt. I loved them all but insanity gave me the best results. If insanity was too rough id definitely recommend tapout though I was not a fan of the resistance band stuff. P90x is great if you enjoy a little more lifting. 30 day shred is constantly getting good reviews though so it's…
  • ive never done it, but im trying to get my brothers to commit to one of these things this year, I will put the pressure on them for this. and if not, good luck and have fun!
  • hell yeah! my best results were from insanity and if you can handle fast and furious you should be fine. its a killer, but that's kinda the point!
  • Thank you! The tapata training was very useful. Do you normally keep strict to the four minutes or add on to it? I think at least mentally id have a hard time sticking to such a short workout.
  • Haha yeah that should help a lot actually! Thank you! I think I will feel like im cheating myself doing such short workouts though lol
  • i only did two months before hopping back to some p90x and insanity hybrid type stuff, but it was a ton of still fun. i just didn't like the bands for strength training. i still pop in the sprawl and brawl and muay thai almost once a week.
