  • While they do not specify the method used, based on visual observation, these pics appear accurate. There are sites you can view DEXA pics, these are just nice for side by side comparison. If you're looking for fractional accuracy, you would need to pursue one of the several other methods discussed on the page.
  • Should be titled "Giving up cream & sugar". ;) Coffee with MCTs, but I like coffee by itself, or wouldn't drink it.
  • Keto/IF is the answer. When I'm following, I'm not hungry, and have loads of energy. MFP tracks sodium, and potassium. I use pink salt/Nu-Salt (potassium) to balance if I lack in one or the other. Been doing IF/keto long before I knew it was a thing, and the more recent info has helped me understand it better, and tune for…

  • Sorry, Just voicing my opinion, keeping the facts straight, wouldn't want people to rush out and buy it because they think it's organic. I was never disrespectful.
  • PB2 is not organic. Low fat diets are unhealthy, lots of information out there for those who want it. This video explains the basics pretty well. http://www.hulu.com/watch/196879/fat-head
  • I eat peanut butter for the fat. It's good for you. Organic, unsweetened, no added salt, oils, of course. Increases testosterone production, and reduces their risk of type 2 diabetes in women. Good fats are the best thing you can eat, AND while peanut butter is not as good for you as some fats,,, coconut oil, olive oil,…
  • I use refined Coconut Oil for cooking. Should've made it clearer. The Raw smokes too much when it gets hot. Yeah no vegie oil, or anything that requires a chemical process, or high heat. Wow, I have never heard of "Oil Pulling" before,,, interesting.
  • Grokette's smart! ;). Nutiva, My fav too. Warm in the morning is awesome, I can't drink coffee w/o it now, I use refined for cooking. I try and get at least 4 tbsp a day. Don't take too late in the day tho,, it keeps me awake. Organic, grass fed, animal fats, ghee,,, cod liver oil, olive oil, flax seed oil occassionally…
  • Eggs, meats; bacon/ ham/steak/chicken/turkey/red salmon, coconut oil, grass fed ghee, and cod liver oil, green vegetables, cayenne pepper, sea salt. Plain Greek yogurt, still too high in sugar to be a "regular". You can get nitrate free breakfast meats "Applegate Farms" in health food stores, and organic chicken and beef…
  • Cereal makes you fat! Spikes blood sugar, slows your metabalism. Doesn't satiate. I would have to pick the least worst: Organic Thick Rolled or Steel Cut Oatmeal. All those processed cereals and granola bars are horrible.
  • It's OK!. Dunno where you live, but winter,,, shorter days reduces serotonin in our brains, the cold,,,, makes it harder to get out, exercise, and crave carbs,,, and then the holiday food,,,, eh! So I think, it's a tough time for everyone. Realize it for what it is, and don't be so tough on yourself. That being said,,,,,…
  • I had the same problem target was 180, went down to 170, decided to change my target to 175. I use coconut oil for energy, and a raw oatmeal/peanut butter (sometimes w cacao nibs) mix (all organic) to hit adjust my calories if I think I need more, I can't prepare/eat enough veggies, meats to meet my requirements some days.…
  • Yeah, guy at work is a "coach" Too much sugar (it has 9 grams, I try and stay under 10 grams a day), and expensive. I avoid most of the protein powders because they all use artificial sweeteners, except Jay Robb, Whey Factors (stevia). I personally use Vega Complete Whole Food Optimizer, Full serving is 26 grams of…
  • I love coffee! But have read it is one of the most heavily sprayed crops, caffeine can adversely affect the endocrine system, and as we all experience, it dehydrates you (your body treats caffeine as poison) So, I try to limit it to special occasions, organic decaf (sometimes a shot of caffeine) with a little stevia. I…

  • I wouldn't go lower than 1200 for more than a day or two. I like to do a light day (under 1500, I'm 6'3") a couple of times a week, I just feel better. Agree with Katie, I generally have 1 or 2 organic eggs (raw or fried), 3-4 oz of canned red salmon (w bones n skin), 2 tbsp of organic coconut oil, 2 tsp cod liver oil.…
