Peanut Butter Lovers!

Hey all-
I just want to let any of you who haven't heard of PB2 how great it is. It's a powdered peanut butter (completely natural, found it in the organic section) that has 85% less fat than regular peanut butter and it's only FORTY-FIVE calories per 2 tablespoons (you add 1 tablespoon of water per 2 tbsp of peanut butter (though I usually add more until it's the consistency I like)). They make a regular and a chocolate flavor (I prefer chocolate), both with 45cals per serving and 1.5g of fat.
I just wanted to post this because I couldn't believe it when I found it, and I was a bit skeptical, but it's AMAZING and i eat it every day.
Here is their website:

I will say that, after moving back home from school, I have not been able to find it at any of the stores around here (Columbus, OH), so I just ordered a 12-pack from their website and it's pretty reasonably priced (~$50 for 12, whereas I was paying $5+tax/jar from the store). Also, because I only have the regular kind left from when I bought it out of state, I like to add cinnamon and a little stevia to it (I like things sweet) and it tastes amazing that way as well. I also like to put it on buttered popcorn flavored rice cakes with sugar free raspberry jelly. I just love it so much I want everyone to know about it! haha
Try it!!!
Thanks for the suggestion! I am a huge peanut butter lover (2 jars a week on average). I am going to try this. I would love to have a great "light" substitute. (cause I hate having to do an extra 20 minutes of cardio all the time).
no problem! that's exactly why i love it. i think i would also eat about 2 jars a week, so i think this is a great substitute (and still good source of protein). i still eat regular peanut butter, but only in small quantities. i recommend the chocolate over the regular, but that's just me0 -
I am aware of this but I don't eat it because it's low fat (though I don't believe that low fat diets are a myth as I've been perfectly fine doing what I've been doing for a year now and I don't eat close to my recommended fat ever). I like to eat. I like peanut butter. I could eat four servings of this peanut butter over one serving of regular (not that I do). That's why I do it, plus I don't like the taste of unsweetened/salted peanut butter. Also, PB2 is organic.
PB2 is not organic.
Low fat diets are unhealthy, lots of information out there for those who want it. This video explains the basics pretty well. http://www.hulu.com/watch/196879/fat-head
Dude. Seriously. If you don't want to eat it, then by all means, don't. Geesh.0 -
No Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Balls
6T PB2
1/2 C natural peanut putter or almond butter
1/2 C protein powder ( i use chocolate)
3T raw honey
1/2 C quick oats
Mix all ingredients in a bowl. it should be crumbly but if balls do not form easily sprinkle with a tsp of water and mix again. recipe makes 12 ping pong ball size balls. place on a baking sheet lined with wax paper and freeze until firm. I store them in the freezer too.
80 calories per ball
10.6 carbs
2G fat
7grams protein Enjoy!
I just read all the posts and I had to laugh! Does anyone realize how boring this world be if we were all the same???? I love skippy but jif will do in a pinch for ME. i know natural is probably better for you but i have to add honey so it is sweet enough for ME. I love PB2 because it comes in chocolate and I don't eat as much peanut butter when i have to mix it first. Works for ME! BUT......I do like to hear what other people are doing and maybe I'll try it and maybe I won't. : )0 -
oooh thanks! can't wait to make them! have you ever tried adding cinnamon to the regular pb2? oh my.... haha0
-
I love Pb2! I'll have to try adding cinnamon-yum!0
-
I love peanut butter and don't keep it in the house either... Well that is until PB2!0

thank god for people like you. seriously.
you make me want to delete this topic all together.
if you're legitimately trying not to seem like an *kitten*, then i apologize, but that's how you're coming across to me. you are forcing me to put myself on the defense.
Dude. Seriously. If you don't want to eat it, then by all means, don't. Geesh.
Sorry,
Just voicing my opinion, keeping the facts straight, wouldn't want people to rush out and buy it because they think it's organic. I was never disrespectful.0 -
I actually agree with you regarding low fat diets. If you read "In the Defense of Food", it talks a lot about how obesity in this country skyrocketed beginning in the 70's when the low fat diets rolled out. Your cells need fat for various reasons. The problem in this country is that people have been overwhelmed with processed food which contains LOADS of fat.
As for the peanut butter, my general rule of thumb is that if anything is not in as close a state as it started out in nature, I don't eat it. For me that means that if there are more than 5 ingredients OR anything I can't pronounce then I don't eat it. What are the ingredients in it?0 -
Per their website:
PB2 Powdered Peanut Butter includes: Roasted peanuts, salt and sugar (NO preservatives or artificial sweeteners). No artificial sweeteners or preservatives are added to our PB2 Powdered Peanut Butter, Chocolate PB2, or Extra Virgin Roasted Peanut Oil.
