Hey all-

I just want to let any of you who haven't heard of PB2 how great it is. It's a powdered peanut butter (completely natural, found it in the organic section) that has 85% less fat than regular peanut butter and it's only FORTY-FIVE calories per 2 tablespoons (you add 1 tablespoon of water per 2 tbsp of peanut butter (though I usually add more until it's the consistency I like)). They make a regular and a chocolate flavor (I prefer chocolate), both with 45cals per serving and 1.5g of fat.

I just wanted to post this because I couldn't believe it when I found it, and I was a bit skeptical, but it's AMAZING and i eat it every day.

Here is their website:
http://www.bellplantation.com/

I will say that, after moving back home from school, I have not been able to find it at any of the stores around here (Columbus, OH), so I just ordered a 12-pack from their website and it's pretty reasonably priced (~$50 for 12, whereas I was paying $5+tax/jar from the store). Also, because I only have the regular kind left from when I bought it out of state, I like to add cinnamon and a little stevia to it (I like things sweet) and it tastes amazing that way as well. I also like to put it on buttered popcorn flavored rice cakes with sugar free raspberry jelly. I just love it so much I want everyone to know about it! haha

Try it!!!

What is the brand name and the name of the actual product? Sounds interesting. I am in the UK though so it might not be available over here!

I think the full brand name is "PB2 Powdered Peanut Butter" and it's made by Bell Plantation.

Yes it is good! I just had some today :o) I haven't tried the chocolate yet...I think I have a jar in the pantry I'll have to try out!
  • I've been thinking about ordering P2B for awhile now. Peanut butter is one of those foods that I *love* but don't bring into my house because I always over indulge in portion size. You make it sound so good I may just have to go ahead and try it.

I have had a little look around on the internet and cannot seem to find anywhere that ships to the UK. Has anyone in the UK ordered some and if so where from? A few people have referred to a website called yourlow-calshop.com but that doesn't seem to work at all!

I have heard that 2 tablespoons of the dried product turns out to be more like 2 teaspoons once mixed with water. Is that true?

I am going to have to try this. And am excited to! I LOVE peanut butter and like another post on here said, I don't bring it into the house because I don't trust myself around it. Today, I bought a single serve [2 Tbsp.. not the ones that say there are singles and have double the amount] and just savored it on a Joseph's Flax/Whole Grain/Low Carb Pita. Yummy! But something with the stats you shared I could indulge in more than once a week! :)

By the way... way to go on the weight loss! That's incredible! Keep it up! :)

no, if anything, it's a little more than 2 tablespoons (though i always have 2 servings at a time) but i also add at least 2 tablespoons over the recommended 1, it's too thick/doesn't fully blend with only one.

The US amazon has it but doesn't ship to the UK and the UK doesn't have it! :(

I eat peanut butter for the fat. It's good for you. Organic, unsweetened, no added salt, oils, of course. Increases testosterone production, and reduces their risk of type 2 diabetes in women. Good fats are the best thing you can eat, AND while peanut butter is not as good for you as some fats,,, coconut oil, olive oil, and meat fats from grass fed animals, its ok as an occasional treat. Just get the good stuff. I like Arrowhead Mills organic creamy. Low fat diets are a myth, based on lies,,, unhealthy. Peanut butter without the fat? Yuck!

I am aware of this but I don't eat it because it's low fat (though I don't believe that low fat diets are a myth as I've been perfectly fine doing what I've been doing for a year now and I don't eat close to my recommended fat ever). I like to eat. I like peanut butter. I could eat four servings of this peanut butter over one serving of regular (not that I do). That's why I do it, plus I don't like the taste of unsweetened/salted peanut butter. Also, PB2 is organic.

But peanut oil is a healthy oil. Why cut it out?

I LOVE Peaut butter! I haven't tried PB2 but it's something I think i'll try. I've been using trader joe's Better n' Peanut butter. It's organic, low sodium 85% less fat and 40% less calories. 100 calories in 2 tbsp. I can save even more calories with the PB2. I think i'll still keep the Better n' Peanut butter in the house as well. I really like the taste of it.

I never said peanut butter (or the fat in it) was bad for you...

I posted this to help people looking to lose weight by lowering calorie intake and the reason PB2 is low calorie is because it has 85% less fat. I get my good fat sources elsewhere. I also eat regular peanut butter (with honey) on a daily basis, but I eat like... 1/4 of a teaspoon of it here and there throughout the day. For me, I would rather eat 200 calories of something that will fill me up than 2 tablespoons of regular peanut butter. It's about quantity for me.

I like Better n' Peanut butter too! Though I have a jar of Jiff with honey that I'm waiting to go through before I get more. If I have two different kinds, I'll graze on both of them, and I don't NEED to do that! haha (that's also why I like PB2, you can't just stick your finger in the jar and eat it, you have to mix it).

Thanks for sharing this info. I never knew they made a powder PB. My husband and I love Peanut Butter but can't just eat a serving size.
I will be looking for this product.

    PB2 is not organic.

Low fat diets are unhealthy, lots of information out there for those who want it. This video explains the basics pretty well. http://www.hulu.com/watch/196879/fat-head

thank god for people like you. seriously.

you make me want to delete this topic all together.

if you're legitimately trying not to seem like an *kitten*, then i apologize, but that's how you're coming across to me. you are forcing me to put myself on the defense.

maybe pb2 is not organic (even though i found it in the organic section of Hyvee in Iowa City, which is why i made the assumption), but you're acting like it's this devil spawned product. i am going to continue to eat it every single day like i have been for the past 3 months. Also, I think the internet can be a terrible source for anyone to use for information regarding weight loss (from my own personal experience) and also, I think that different diets work for different people. There is not one set way to lose weight and be healthy. If that's what you think, great- I do not and will never agree with you. I hate people who think it's their way or nothing. People should figure out what works best for them specifically, experiment, and try everything. That's what I did (and am still doing).

    NOOOOO..don't delete ..lol..
I just heard about this product and even though I dont cut out fats I, like you, would rather some quantity and gets fats elsewhere. I have a lot to lose (100lbs) and can use any helpful tasty ideas. So thanks for sharing. I WILL be looking for this. And bravo on your weight loss. You look fantastic!!!

Thanks for the suggestion! I am a huge peanut butter lover (2 jars a week on average). I am going to try this. I would love to have a great "light" substitute. (cause I hate having to do an extra 20 minutes of cardio all the time).
