I wouldn't say I have had ibs, but pretty much every person in this group would attest that their digestive system, from top to... bottom works much better. Some get away with 80/20, aome require a full 30 days clean.

Well it was technically just the inside of the bone anyway

I had to do it :) I can't bring myself to do organs yet but some marrow was worth trying. They typically spread it on toast which would be more appropriate if I ate toast. (and so no one has to bother asking, I'm 100% sure this was some cafo cow - in restaurant grass fed is rare)

I have never heard tonic water as a solution. I do know I love my sodastream. It helped me kick my soda addiction and makes drinking water fun :). For tummy displeasure - which happens if I eat something questionable, my go to solution is bitters and soda, add just enough bitters to give soda a pink color. and by soda I…

no eggs? bummer, I love my hard boiled eggs as a to go snack

famu5ive - If you have been "compliant" you should do quite well - and your HDLs should shoot up, and trigs drop nicely. If you were a sugar burner and carbaholic along with eating crap oils, that would easily explain the high LDL. I bet 1-2 months will blow your doc away with the number change. For non insurance covered…

My Doc is Dr Ted Naiman, MD. Out of Issaquah (Seattle), Wa. Found him on Primal Docs and he is one of very few MD's in WA on there and happens to be covered by my insurance. He is funny in that I always want lots of tests (that all show I'm awesome), and he says, "look, if your results came out poor, I'd be telling you to…

I just turned 50. And I'm taking that question as a compliment.

seems to have really impacted traffic because I don't think people can find the private groups.

bulletproof coffee - done. I add good quality cacao powder and cinnamon. most delicious latte ever. super filling. tons of energy. takes me to lunch and beyond.

yes, first off canola is chock full of omega 6 - pro inflammatory and oxidizing oil. the MCT mediums and short chain (butter) are digested quickly and easily - directly to the liver - both providing "quick energy" and supporting cognitive health. Also helping blood lipids. Long chain and VLC require bile and digestion.…

^ agree. canola is long chain fatty acid. Is horrible in so many ways. I doubt you will save enough by eating this toxin to affect your food budget. cut out something else other than good fats.
-
I do dark chocolate and a shot of scotch each night. (sshhh I know... )

While I gave up soda many years ago, I found soda water a great addition. A soda stream is my favorite appliance right next to the crockpot. (I don't put anything in it). There is always caloric coconut water and for gut health some kombucha.

Proof that eating gluten makes you an a-hole.

as above. simple. eat more fat. a lot. eat good fats.

I assume you have looked into the anti-inflammation versions of paleo? I'd make sure to get great fats, great proteins and look hard at dairy and nightshades. I often recommend people read It Starts With Food and try a whole 30 especially when they have serious symptoms.

OMG, eating crap oxidized fats filled with omega 6's and/or transfats would defiantly cause depression. I don't mean that in the silly way - I mean it. It also would cause Alzheimers, general hormone disregulation (which would have a serious impact on mental health) and just plain suck.

Peek at the very first thread in this forum http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1092470-success-stories personally been paleo for 2.5 years. At first I worried about lbs - but now I worry about being indestructible.

I would agree with nutmeg. not saying you are wrong. People can choose or not choose to eat meat for any reason they want. I have no problem eating vegetables and they can't run away. Don't people always say plants can sense when you are talking to them. anyway - I thought this post was pertinent and just read this…

switch to iced coffee ? I haven't noticed it. I find the coffee is actually quite a bit cooler than my normal brew. The butter brings it down quite a bit. I haven't noticed any thermal properties. Just that I feel like a rock star.

crunch used to be my thing. Now I find bacon helps (seriously I know I always talk about bacon but there is a reason). Also, pork rinds - nothing crunchier that a good pork rind.
-
also much cheaper than diabetes and high blood pressure - those are expensive.
-
mmmm bacon - you just made me salivate

Id add go through your pantry and throw out or donate the primal food items. Just don't have them in the house at all. It's ok, no one really needs any of that to survive. Matter of fact quite the opposite.

congrats on the early success. It is amazing when you look at all the health issues including skin. For me it was joint pain that I just accepted as normal. Welcome to your new normal.

that hilarious.

one vote for butter. simple Kerry gold pastured grass fed butter. unsalted

There are a ton of studies and clinical info about eating fat that would help - but I found my friends always continuing to tell me I was killing myself with all the fat I eat. I then offer to share my blood tests and hormone tests which I am happy to put money that they are significantly better than anyone around me.…

I make it a point to get a shirt (and wod) from my travels. I've gotten in some pretty cool wods. Typically costs $20 but sometimes $5. My favorite was Barcelona doing a wod in Spanish, when I don't speak Spanish.
