It's not jealousy it's a self esteem issue. People who are morbidly obese know they are...they know it is not good for them...they may think they don't deserve better or this is just going to be how it is. When you talk to someone who is morbidly obese about how one can get diabetes/other health issues that person is going…

...Or years for that matter. Especially when there is no hope for recovery and you are literally just waiting for death in the hopes that their suffering will end.

I have a polar FT40 with the chest strap. I am always 100-150 burned calories under what my elliptical says. I always go with the smallest number just to be safe! I actually really love it because I feel like now I know exactly what i'm burning and not just guessing all the time.

Since when does marriage and children=straight AKA 'fixed'??? If a guy/girl is sick of the pressure being put on him/her by family, friends, society to be a certain way he/she can easily just do what he/she is SUPPOSED to do and that by no means the BS 'therapy' worked. Depression, unhappiness and most likely divorce would…

I've pre-logged and am running around 1500 calorie total with my pumpkin cheesecake (If I only have one...HA!)! Is it 3 yet?!?! I plan on eating to my hearts content today. Happy Thanksgiving!

Straight up refuse to give up my Starbucks!! I have made concessions in so many other areas that this one I refuse to budge on. If I want my venti iced WCM no fat no whip (460 calories) I get it and adjust my day accordingly...work out more, plan meals differently, etc.

I've been loosing weight pretty slowly over the last 2 years...46 lbs so far. I love white chocolate mochas so instead of cutting them out completely I get it skinny. Can I drink one everyday...no, but I have them when I want them and adjust accordingly for the day. More exercise...different meal choices etc. Where am I…

I've lost 46 lbs over 2 years (16lbs since starting MFP in May of this year)....NOT FAST AT ALL! And I am kind of ok with that. Sure I would love to loose faster, but then I know I would have to give up foods that I love, eat so few calories and work out constantly. I can't sustain that long term. What I'm doing now...I…

I just got my Polar Ft40 HRM in the mail and have used it twice. LOVE IT! Super easy to use and the chest strap is not in the slightest bit bothersome. I don't even know it's there while i'm working out. It's so nice to actually know how many calories you are burning instead of guessing all the time!

I HATE BMI! I'm 5'1" weight 169 lbs and still obese. 11 pounds to go just to be considered overweight! I try to ignore it, but damnit sometimes it's depressing as hell. Oh well i'll just keep trucking on and be happy with the progress i've made and will continue to make....which does make it a lot easier to tell my BMI to…

I think a lot of people don't want to bring up weight because it's a little taboo to ask someone about, but they are genuinely curious or worried. I had a coworker ask me if I was ok and wanted to make sure I wasn't loosing because I was sick. Of course I informed him i was sick and started to pretend cry....I quickly…

Get the beans dried and soak and boil them yourself. I don't buy canned beans anymore.

I was out to eat with some relatives. My 12 year old cousin informed me she forgot her Sensa at home so she had to pick something healthy. Yeah you heard right 12 year old on sensa. Anyway she picked out fried pickles as her meal. I told her if she was trying to pick something healthy that wasn't necessarily the best…

Yes this I know this but the only reason insurance companies did that is because they were forced to by the govt. Back in the day (and we're talking like what a year ago?) they would even drop people if they got sick and didn't want to provide coverage for them. Oh i'm sorry, but the insurance you got for just this reason…

You could be denied by insurance companies for your asthma because it would be considered a pre-existing condition. Insurance companies are *kitten*....I don't think they actually give two ****s about people's health. It's ALL money.
-
Not only do insurance companies charge MORE for being overweight....they will also DENY you coverage for it. All of the above happened to me. At my heaviest I was 215lb at 5'1"...DENIED! Because of this I applied to another company and at that time I had already lost 10lbs, but they said even at 205 at my height I would be…

A coworker just asked me this a week ago! I started to pretend cry and ask him why he had to bring up such a sensitive subject...THEN told him it was just weight loss! We all got a laugh out of it and I honestly was flattered that he cared enough to ask about my health!

I take MultiVites (multivitamin) and Viactive (calcium and Vitamin D). I make sure I take them because I enjoy them, which is kind of the point. I refer to them as my gummy treats!!!

It's not only fast food people. I ordered a chicken fajita roll-up at Applebee's thinking I was doing 'OK'...was it the best choice...no, but I really didn't think it was the disaster it was. When I got home I went to log it into my food diary and literally almost fell off my chair...1100 calories!!!!!!!!! Just for the…
