I get up, make a cuppa and then get straight to my work out, once I have that done I feel ready to take on my day - been working out every day before work for 8 years so the habit has stuck  I eat breakfast mid morning rather than first thing, unless I feel very hungry then I'll eat before I leave for work. I'm a…

And here's mine.. been this size since 2013...and always will see this journey as a work in progress (I'm 51 btw) Maintain eating 1800-1950 cals gross - I'm pretty active and average 14k steps a day and do strength training x 3/week

I've grown to love exercise, I love how energised and revitalised it makes me feel and I love how it makes me feel happy to be alive  It didn't use to be that way though! but when I found this app and realised that by moving a bit more I would earn more calories to eat, then it seemed a win win to just do that... 8…

I've always found that consistent strength/weight training is really good for the whole body but it noticeably helps the abdominal area too.

You're at a very light weight for your height. Are you sure its not just bad posture? how does your tummy look when you stand up straight and suck in your tummy a little? and someone 3 months pregnant usually doesn't have much of a swell to see, could you have a distorted view of your belly size?

^ this

thats what I was going to say

gahh this is an OLD thread!

I am always at my lightest first thing too..

It depends on how much you have to lose, I had 25lbs to lose in total, and it was noticeable after the first 7lbs which was around 8 weeks. Every 10lbs for me meant I dropped a dress size.

The waist is different for men and for women, I measure mine at the narrowest point which is a few inches above the belly button. For a guy its usually below the belly button a few inches, at the narrowest part.

I do 16:8 on week days because it suits me - its a great way to keep the calories in check I find. At the end of the day being in calorie deficit consistently is what leads to loss. Its about finding a way to lose that suits you and works

Fish and chips - I share that with hubby because portions are inclined to be big and leaves that meal around 700 cals for me

I agree with @mithridites reply. You are losing, and the amount of loss average indicates you aren't in as much calorie deficit as you think. Tighten up your logging - are you using a food scale to weigh foods? are you choosing the right entry in the food database? its important to eat a minimum of 1200 calories and even…

I've been at maintenance for 7 years, haven't logged food hardly at all in around 4 years. I do mentally have an rough idea of my intake each day and my activity level never changes - I maintain within a +/-5lb weight range. I still weigh things like pasta/rice/potatoes and meat but eyeball everything else. Occasionally…
-
You didn't say if you had much weight you needed to lose?
-
Yep it works and is a great tool  I'm 7 years in maintenance and still use the app.
-
Yes it really is that simple, but not always easy - the main thing is to be consistent the majority of the time.
-
^^ agreed

Do you have much weight to lose? as your weight reduces so will the belly fat although thats often the area where the fat is last to go but unfortunately we can't spot reduce. All the best with the shedding.
-
Congratulations :-)
-
yep water retention seems to be the normal for me now too....gahhh
-
Unfortunately we can't spot reduce, we can do all the crunches we like but it wont necessarily help. The best thing is to lower our body fat which is done through calorie deficit. When my bf% is lower my stomach is flatter, and lifting weights regularly helps - I haven't done a crunch or floor exercise in years and thank…
-
The good news is you have kept the majority of that weight off so that is an achievement in itself. All the best for losing, you did it before, you will do it again.

Yeah the diary is fine but I don't use MFP for the diary but for the interaction on the newsfeed..... this must be the longest the site has been down in AGES...
-
me too
-
p.s you just have to remember what you called it!

yep, on the meal you have just added tap 'save meal' and it will give you the option to save/name it for future logging. Then when you go to re log that saved meal you can easily adjust your weights if necessary.
