Started my journey in 2014- got in the best shape of my life, had a baby and was on and off w workouts the last 3.5 years. However the last 6 months I have been consistent and now about to start a mini cut on Sunday! And will be the big 4-0 this year! Looking for motivational friends!

You always want to aim for that good sore feeling, where it is just enough to feel it for two days. As suggested above I would add in legs, chest and back. My favorite reps are 12-10-8-6... 12 starts light and it gets heavier as I work down to 6. It's a lot to take in as you get started but it does it easier, just don't…

I stay within my calories, but I am very mindful of what I eat; veggies, fruit, protein. I watch carbs closely as for me that is where I gain my weight however I don't need to do a low carb diet, its just eating the right carbs and with the marcos. I also don't deprive myself of a piece of chocolate each day.

I am 5'3" and have lost 30 pounds over 2 years. At this point I have put the scale away and am just toning everything up this next year. I lift, and do HIIT cardio 5-6x a week. I also still count calories (especially carbs for me).

It can become obsessive but it's a lifestyle not a diet. Slow and steady, it is going to take time to loose the remaining weight. I too have given up social invites and schedule everything around my gym time, but it is important to me so I don't mind. Just watch for calories/macros and be active and it will happen :)

I have eaten 1400-1500 over the last 2 years and lost 30 pounds, 1200 can be dangerous so please just make it slow and steady. Losing weight too fast rarely ever stays off plus depending how much you have to loose, slow and steady allows for the extra skin cells to re-acclimate so you don't have all the lose skin.

Exactly! You get to a point where you are like, well that is a new line that wasn't there last month :) It's fun and motivating to keep going.

I am 5'3, but remember weight is not as important as measuring and how your clothes fit!! I don't even own a scale anymore!!

Still working towards being more defined- 2 years of hard work... baby steps.

I've done a lot of research on this and lifting burns more calories than just cardio including after your workout is complete. So lifting is the best way to go in that sense... Hooray!! HOWEVER you need cardio for your cardiovascular health that you can't get from lifting alone. So I say finish each lifting session with 10…

Squat, lunges and step ups using free weights (I am up to 15lbs in each hand). "Lifting Heavy" can be really confusing and overwhelming or at least it was for me... lifting light weights for more reps is just as effective for building muscle as lifting heavy weights for fewer reps. The key is lifting to the point of…
