  • I lost 100 pounds and walking was my only exercise. I just keep increasing speed and distance. Now I also feel like I want to be stronger and not just fit. Search for Holly Honjo on YouTube. I felt it comforting to take some classes from someone who looked like me and understood the difficulties of moving your body when…
  • I was interviewed for an article in the paper about my weight loss success! So happy to be able to share my story with others, with the hopes of encouraging those who once felt like me and thought they could never do it. Here is the link to the story…
  • Personally, I might have had another F word for that Dr.
  • It has taken me 18 months to lose 96 pounds. I set my goal at 2 pounds per week at the start and that was definitely the average if I went back and calculated it over the first 9 months. I have slowed now to .5 pound a week, not because I have changed my goal, but am still moving in the right direction so I am OK with that.
  • After losing 50 or 60 pounds, people did start to treat me differently, but I believe it was because I was ready to have people see me. At my heaviest, I was so busy trying to be invisible, and now I have my head up and meeting people eye to eye and I am smiling! So I must be more approachable now. You won't get the love…
  • Well hello gorgeous!! Way to win the battle of the brain.. that is truly the biggest obstacle to get around! You look awesome and you can just see your confidence growing in each picture! I am the same height as you and hope to get down to a size 10. I am currently a 14 and feel great, but know there is more work to do.…
  • It's a Ralph Lauren dress and I bought it at Macy's this summer. It's actually sleeveless and I bought a shrug to go over it because it was freezing out last Saturday!
  • I started here on MFP 18 months ago and have lost 96 pounds in that time frame. The first 20 or so came off over the course of a little over a year, but here is the weird thing.. and don't hate me--I wasn't trying to lose weight. I had not changed my lifestyle at all. I was at the Dr for something and he asked me if I had…
  • It is a great feeling. That is really the best part! Congrats on your results as well! Happy picture taking. :)
  • Look at those curves! Woot! Beautiful! Be proud and keep it up!
  • Thanks everyone.. the dress was definitely a splurge, but I figured that I have been shopping in thrift stores for the past 18 months since I was changing sizes so fast that I deserved something nice for this occasion. I felt a little guilty, but it was worth every penny! :) A girls gotta treat herself right?
  • I don't know why the after picture didn't post!! So frustrating here is the after... why couldn't I get them side by side... too big?
  • Schwan's Coconut Almond fudge... I am obsessed...
  • Number one reason was to stop feeling like crap and start living my life. So worth the work!!
  • Sexy ***** by David Guetta Yep, that's me..hahaha http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=Xo_7bhk1UzA
  • Only my friends can see my diary, that is enough accountability for me. I don't like when you comment on the boards and sometimes random people start ripping on your diary. I just don't need that kind of feedback.
  • 5'10" 196 and wear size 14
  • This picture made me cry, but didn't send me on my journey to be healthier! I was stubborn... My profile pic (where I am big enough to block out an island in the background  ) didn't even motivate me even though I was so ashamed of how I looked.
  • ^^THIS!!^^ And also, we were at an arena last night where we have attended sporting events in the past. We were there for a health expo, but I ran up to the seats to see how I would fit in them now. There was room for me to slide back and forth in them! Before, I could barely squeeze myself into them and if I wanted to…
  • First picture is when I was at my heaviest at 309. I started on MFP a year ago when I was 286. Second picture I am at 206, sorry I cut my head off, but I tried on that dress without thinking I would actually get into it and I had some bed head going on! :) The last time I wore it was in the 80's (and of course it is now…
  • The first picture is from my drivers license at my heaviest 309 in 2009. I have lost 87 pounds in the last year and am now at 199. I got a high five from a female TSA agent on my last trip after she looked at my drivers license then looked at me!
  • Congrats to all of you.. you all look so amazing! Doesn't it feel great too? Woo hooo for us!!! First picture is when I was at my heaviest at 309. Second picture I am at 206, sorry I cut my head off, but I tried on that dress without thinking I would actually get into it and I had some bed head going on! :) I didn't think…

  • Fresh string beans.. the skinniest ones you can find.. put a tablespoon or two of olive oil into a frying pan and sautee the beans for 7-8 minutes. Sprinkle with a little lemon juice while cooking and for the last two minutes add some minced garlic to taste. Sprinkle with a little sea salt and pepper when finished. I pick…
  • The first time I flew as a size 16 (down from a 24) it was like a party! It was a huge NSV to not have to worry about spilling into the next person's seat and the seat belt clicked right in and I had to tighten it a bit! You will be just fine..Congrats on the weight loss thus far!!
  • bump for later
  • bump to read later when I am not so sleepy..
  • Thanks for the kind words all, I posted this mostly to show others who are annoyed with the scale that there are other ways to perk yourself up when you are feeling like progress on the scale is slow! My other way to motivate myself is take the measuring tape out too! Good luck to you all on this journey..keep up the great…
