Amazing difference! You look so much more your age in the newer pictures! :)

Good for you for getting started! I think it's really important to have a support system in place, especially because you're in a new place and stress is naturally high in that situation. Build a group of friends here to support you, and also see what you can find in your new home to build in some friendly support - maybe…

If the scale stresses you out, then you're probably better off skipping it. You can definitely just keep track of calories and measurements. I don't think you need anything fancy, any soft tape measure will do. There are also some body fat estimation tools online that you can use to track progress. Just put in measurements…

Wonderful job! Congrats on your success, and your positive new outlook!

Wow, I love your attitude and philosophy! Amazing progression on the lifts, and it's hard to believe there's 35 pounds difference between those two photos. Great job on putting on some serious muscle!

Excellent work! Yes, it can be hard not to focus on the number on the scale, but it really isn't just about that number, is it? Good reminder. :)

I love running in general, always have. When I'm feeling good on a run it seems like I could just keep going and going. I love that feeling. Running is one of the absolute best stress relievers for me, and I do some great thinking while running. I have never tried a more medatative approach, like someone above mentioned…

That's awesome; what a difference!

Mine was the start of summer two years ago, when I couldn't fit into any of my shorts, except the stretchy-waist athletic kind.

You look great, congrats!

Great success so far, congrats, and here's to the next bit going just as well!

You are an amazing inspiration. Thank you for sharing your story.

What a ride!! Good job.

That is an amazing difference, good for you!

I know exactly what you mean, and if it works for you, I say go for it. It's probably strange to some people, but it can be a little bit scary to be facing the increase to maintenance calories after having success at a deficit. I know it was for me. I too like that buffer; I could still feel okay with going over and know…

And as far as vanilla protein powders go, try Isopure Natural Vanilla. It's really very good.

Amazing progress. Congrats on your success, and best wishes as you continue. Sounds like you're having fun with the fitness aspects, as well, which is great!

That is awesome, good for you! Keep it up! :)

I've heard many people mention "You are Your Own Gym" - lots of effective body weight exercises - there is both an app and a book.

No, there is no such thing as being too small to exercise! :) 5'1" and 103 here (and 41 Y.O. to boot), and I exercise plenty (and eat plenty too, most of the time). But you do have to FUEL the exercise, or you will just get skinny, which is not the same as getting fit (trust me, I know), and I assume this is what what you…

Yes, please! Doing alright, but I need to get a little nudge back on track.

Those are all great. I say no run is a bad run if you actually get out there and do it!

My advice for Monday: totally enjoy yourself! And welcome to MFP, it's a really great site, and if you use it regularly you will definitely see changes. K

Sign up! Walk it, jog it, run it, whatever; just getting out there is the main thing, and it sounds like you could do that no problem. You don't have to be able to jog the whole thing to go for it! What a story you have, I'm so glad you're doing so well post-surgery.

Great work! Love P90X, does wonderful things for the body, doesn't it?
-
Oh geez, sounds like fun. My advice is the same thing I tell my husband when the kids are pushing his buttons - do not engage! Just do not engage. Let him burn himself out, anything else will just feed the fire. The best response to anything related to the topic is just a polite yet disinterested and completely…

If I'm just "snacky", plain air popped popcorn is a big evening go-to for me. I love it anyhow, and you can munch for a long time on a big bowl, so it gives me something to crunch on for a while, but low calories for the volume. And as others have mentioned, make sure you're eating enough in general. Oh, and if the kids…

Awesome! Okay, I know you are a P90X and P90X2 fan, so maybe you can help me out. I have been wavering and trying to decide whether to get P90X2, or one of the other series. I've been doing P90X, mostly just using the resistance videos in along with my running and occasional other cardio (and I do the yoga every weekend).…

Add cottage cheese (mostly for moisture in lieu of mayo, but also adds protein, though sometimes I still use some Miracle Whip for flavor as well), and some combination of: sun dried tomatoes, marinaded jalpenos, lemon pepper, rice vinegar, and/or tapatio or other hot sauce. I just mix this up in a bowl and eat it; easy,…

90 minutes of yoga - P90X DVD Might also sneak in a run later if I can manage
