I'm in finals too....2 exams on Wed/Thurs and then chemistry final monday morning at 8am aghhhh. My nutrition prof says there is a definite connection between studying/cramming and the need to have the crunching sensations, which totally makes sense when you look around you in the lib or cafe,,,,students eating…

nice!! Another thing you can do....go to bed earlier. This way the temptation to eat is gone (your sleeping), you get your rest, can even get up earlier and you win all around! I had to do this to stop the snacking at night, I get up about an hour to hour and half earlier than I did before, and I get so much more done in…

I agree with above...do the yoga x after run or next morning. If you haven't done it before it is gonna push you and if the run is really important I'd wait a day. Its an Ashtanga like yoga series, meaning strength and lots of it!

Greek yogurt still has fat.....but, it has higher protein, lower carb load and yes it is thicker and tastes great. But, if you are looking for calcium, reg yogurt is higher. I personally go with Greek Gods Vanilla, just a 1/2 cup with flax seed and its is yummo!!

Here is a quick link on PWS and how the genetic defect cause a feeling of starvation and uncontrollable hunger and leads to obesity if not diagnosed and caloric restriction and increased energy expenditure aren't put into place. Too often children are not diagnose until after they have become obese, which of course will…

I don't think this is a matter of parent neglect. He needs to be seen by a geneticist to screen him for a variety of genetic disorders including Prader-Willi syndrome. Of course there is concern over the rise in obesity but when one see's small children that are "extremely" over weight from normal weight parents "blame"…

Thats what I have too. I personally think that just 20min everyday is not enough....thats why I use it for my time crunch days. But if you were still doing your running then its a great add in :)

I mix it in on mornings when I have less time as it is only 25 minutes.....you will probably start at level 2 or even 3 if you are already doing alot of strength training. Great fast all-over workout

Hi there... Potassium and Sodium are agnostic of one another.....if one is to low the other is probably to high. Try to decrease your salt intake and great sources of Potassium through food are : green leafy veg, bananas, grapefruit & tomato juice, milk, nuts and lean meats. But....when you boil veg you lose the potassium…

The main reason is you can cause injury to your joints (knee, ankle, hips). Ankle weights are meant for toning/resistance...ie: pushing/pulling of the muscle, not for aerobic endurance which is what running/walking is for. You really don't want to put that added weight on and risk injury. Elite athletes will add weighted…

Hi There.... What you are looking for is the term "whole-grain"....Whole Wheat still has much of the 'germ' removed, this is where you get the good fibre ect... Whole Grain means that the entire grain has been used when milling the flour. Here is an excellent link to explain...it is the Canadian Government Health site but…

Hi Mandy....here is a link to a great bog Iike about being healthy and active that has some GREAT lower-carb recipes (including a granola that you will love and chocolate zuchini brownies). The recipes for both of these should be right on the page that I've linked you too. Cheers, Kitty…

Echoshill...yes that should equate to 6.055lbs lost. However depending on your body fat % and fitness levels you may have reached plateau, meaning that if you were losing weight steadily and you now aren't you are now in a lower caloric intake to keep in deficit. Meaning your body has shifted, adjusted to the the amount of…

The last 10 are the hardest by far. As you get smaller your body needs less fuel to sustain its regular body functions. So you have to become very strict with diet and with exercise. I myself am pretty petite 5'2" and my goal weigh tis 110. When I was your age, this is about where I was at. You are working/studying in a…

Hi all....here is a note from the American Clinical Dietetics Journal about the calorie expenditure of nursing mothers....I just thought you would like some scientific evidence of the calories you are burning through nursing and how important it is that you take in enough calories to sustain you production. If you would…

Hi there....how much are you nursing right now? To produce around 25 - 30 ounces of milk you require approx 500 calories. This is on top of your regular caloric expenditure. You are exactly right 1200 cal is nowhere near enough for you to continue to produce the quality milk your little one needs. If you are doing turbo…
