For me it has been less a problem of weight and more of weakness. I don't know what your normal exercise routine is, but my trainer worked with me to eliminate my problem. Used to be my right leg would go completely numb within 30 seconds of standing on concrete floors. Now I can outlast my wife! :)

Skinfold calipers are cheap and fairly accurate. Best choice all around. Statistical variance is around 3-4%. Agree with Jimmie... You're in a great position to do this because you don't need to lose weight, only gain. So eat LOTS of good food, high in protein, and work out your whole body. If you don't have a personal trainer and can afford it, I highly recommend it.

You might have a food sensitivity/allergy... I believe many people do, but to such a light degree they don't realize what it does to their body's ability to metabolize their food. But I'm not a doctor... just speaking from my own experience knowing people.

At my last weigh-in with my trainer I had GAINED almost 8 LBS and LOST 1% body fat... down to 13.5% !! That is pure muscle gain... I AM STOKED!!! :)
