  • Thank you, this is great!!
  • Yeah, I figured as much! --- Just wanted to say that if you live somewhere that caster sugar (extra fine granulated sugar) isn't readily available, or you don't want to pay a premium for it, regular granulated sugar should work fine in muffins. They substitute 1:1 when you:re measuring by weight (100 g).
  • Hey everyone, I've successfully avoided fast food for the last week or so. It helps that my husband came down with covid - I really can't go anywhere. Luckily I don't have it. But it's forced me to cook at home. I've had some sweets, but I consider it a giant win not eating fast food. I've lost some weight. A few pounds…
  • Yes!! Thank you very much. I am also wanting not just lower calorie, lower sugar, but something that satiates my hunger for awhile and is tasty. These are great ideas.
  • Thank you SO MUCH!!!
  • Yes recipe please!! I received a pizzelle maker for my birthday and have made some amazing gluten-free, sugar-free chocolate and also anise cookies!
  • Hello! I lost a lot of weight before, so I expect up and down. But a progressive down instead of up makes me happy!! As always, my sticking point is the afternoons. This is where I break down. I don't know what to snack on -- in the past, it was berries and yogurt. With maybe a little honey as a treat. I'm always stuck on…
  • Hey everyone, thanks for the kind words. I decided to really start thinking about making the small changes (which are pretty big but small to me). Some time ago I started making sugar-free treats. I wonder if that'd help or just prolong the pain. I've been working out again, nothing crazy. Just cardio one day, weights the…
  • Interesting cvriverside - thanks!
  • Yeah, that's a big problem for me since I work from home.
  • Thank you - the worst part is I thought I was doing ok and only in the last few weeks have I come to realize I am not ok. Cookies, candy, ice cream. McDonald's, Taco Bell, Chipotle. It's like I just decided to throw it all out the window. I'm going to try to make some small changes, like prepping my lunch, planning for…
  • I like it! I'll check the price, and maybe keep them in the closet as you suggest. Thanks!
  • I've been measuring into a cup using a scale, then sealing and tucking the bag into the pantry, instead of on the counter where I'd routinely grab a handful. That handful looks to be double a serving and I'd do that several times a day. Just NOT doing that makes me feel so much better. I didn't realize that me doing that…
  • A frozen Hot Tamale? Love your trick!
  • yup, absolutely. And the portion is so pitiful compared to what I'd normally eat - which actually makes me happy to know.
  • Hey guys, thanks for writing. I know you can't outrun a bad diet. But man, how did I do it before? Just 3 years ago. I was logging back then, and it looks like I was having things like ice cream sundaes. But it wasn't nightly. It was about 1x per week. I definitely moved more - I worked in a high-rise office about 45 min…
  • I so hear you. Soo much easier said than done. Can't I just eat them all and not buy them again? LOL
  • I do. Just can't seem to stick to the solution. Um, all day? haha, afternoon for sure. Weekends. Thank you for the kind words!
  • Hi everyone, glad I found this post! About 4 years ago I weighed 170 lbs. and lost something like 36 lbs. I was at my all-time low and almost to my goal weight of 130 lbs. I'm 5'2" and almost 49 yrs. old. I was SO happy. My clothes fit, I was buying cute ones too. I was getting compliments. Then, covid. I'm now 150 lbs. It…
  • Thanks everyone for all of the tips and suggestions, I truly appreciate it. I suppose my dinners aren't all that well thought out either. For some reason, I equate a homemade pizza as "healthy" as I compare it to Domino's! So um, yeah. Anyhow, I do think I really need to analyze what I'm doing with food -- and you all have…
  • Question: I made a pizza last night using Pillsbury crust dough. My husband sliced it into smaller pieces, I think 20 total. What do I put in the recipe blank for how many persons my recipe serves?
  • Well, shoot, unfortunately I'm a creative cook and hardly ever follow a recipe. I can still recreate it online though, it's just a bit time consuming. I will keep trying!!
  • Thank you Connie!!!!!!!!!!!!! Part of learning how to live life without booze is learning how to be kind to myself. I'm not perfect, I'm a work in progress.
  • Exactly. We went to McD's because we didn't want what we had planned on cooking for dinner (gumbo), and my husband was craving it, which in turn I easily caved in. We do that a lot. One of us wants something and the other caves in and goes for it. So we left the house to get it. I have checked out PF's menu online and feel…
  • Now, this makes some real sense to me. I agree, my portions may have slipped some since I'm not measuring or logging any more. And honestly, I have lost more weight by logging here than not. I really, really like your ideas. I'm going to try them. Thanks so much.
  • And, that's awesome. You just gave yourself a super gift of living.
  • It's already gone. Thanks for sharing about your diet coke problem. LOL.
  • LOL, thanks! I hesitated on mentioning it, but then realized it might help some of you see where I am coming from. I'm not sure if I traded one for another. I think I did early on. I went bananas with sweets, and coffee. Now, I have reigned a lot of that in. Just one cup of coffee. The sweets, I love. I'm slowly curbing…
  • Thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!
  • Hmm, not sure. But thanks so much for sharing your experience, it helps me greatly.
