A POUND of twizzlers. >:) But I won't because of the calories, inevitable stomach ache, and you know... reasons.

Feel free to add me! I'm getting back into myfitnesspal after a while (lost about 70 pounds, been maintaining since) and will be losing another 50. :)

I'm always down for more friends for supporting each other. Add me if you'd like. :)

I'm always open to more friends! Add me! :)

Dollar menus have smaller items with fewer calories in them. Have a burger or chicken sandwich but not the fries and soda, add a small salad ( most have them now). :)

From California! But living in NY now!

It sounds like consulting your doctor would be a good place to start. Although I do empathize with the migraine situation. I have had them and also have family members who have them more often and more seriously. Hugs. :)

I'm open to adopting a couple noobs! I'm active every day on MyFitnessPal. I've lost over 70 pounds and am still going strong towards 100! I have lots of tips and tricks regarding eating and changing your relationship with food. I'm a Fitbit user, with PCOS, living in Manhattan, single, former high school teacher turned…

I know it's not fun to take "extra" meds unless absolutely necessary, but if he has exercise induced urticaria, it IS necessary, IMHO. Benadryl really doesn't do anything. Also, for me at least, it takes a couple of days to build up enough of the 24-hour Zyrtec to be effective, so I think it's the constant, sustained…

Yes, yes, yes, I definitely get it! I take a 24-hour store brand Zyrtec, but have also taken the 24-hour store brand Claritin and both work just great. I can't handle Benadryl because it makes me too sleepy to function, but these daily allergy needs are pretty low dose and have no side effects for me, at least. Also, if I…

YES!!!! OMG YES!!! I have had this horrific itching since I was a child! It wasn't until my mid-twenties that a doctor told me to take a 24-hour allergy med every day, and as long as I do that, I can exercise again and walk like a normal person! If I sound like I'm shouting, I sort of am because OMG the itching is…

Just wanted to chime in as a fellow woman with PCOS who has lost weight. I was in a similar spot as the OP until a doctor finally prescribed me metformin. Now I track and workout like "normal" non-PCOS MFP users and I lose as expected. If you were just diagnosed, talk to your doctor about treatment options. It IS possible…

I have posted about this elsewhere in the forums, but I was diagnosed with PCOS at age 18, over 12 years ago and tried every diet method: gluten free, paleo, low carb, low glycemic, weights, cardio, you name it. Until a doctor finally put me on metformin, I had no success. Now, while on metformin, I use myfitnesspal to…

Ok, fellow high school teacher here: My easy go-to snacks: Babybel cheeses Apples (sometimes with peanut butter, sometimes not) Baby carrots and hummus Lots of water (timed with when I'll have a bathroom break, of course) Though sometimes when I have literally no time to grab anything throughout the day, I'll drink a Dr…

I noticed some increased hunger in the first couple of days when I started taking it originally, but eventually it evened out and I don't think it does much for appetite now. I'm on a much higher dose as well. Anything that you think you notice in the first couple of days is also likely to be psychosomatic anyway, so who…

I use an app called Happy Scale in addition to this one, which sets 5 pound goals. (It also smooths fluctuations in weight so it gives you a moving average.) I've found that the small goals are more motivating than I expected! When I reach one, I'm like "yay!" and then I think, "ok, just five more pounds..." So I guess I…

Well I'm pretty darn close too! I'm 30, 5'6", currently 194 lbs. highest weight was 255, aiming for 140 eventually. Slow and steady here. :)

I've restarted a few times on here and have NEVER had a huge water-based loss the first week, not even the very first time. It's ok. It actually is ok. Some of us just don't, but you can still lose weekly just fine. :) SW: 255 CW: 198 GW1: 185 UGW: 140

I'm pretty close to your stats except I don't consider myself tall... Only 5'6" here. :) SW: 255 CW:199 GW1:185 UGW: 140 I've been eating around 1400 cal/day for a loss of around 1.4 lbs/week for the last few weeks. I try to get my steps in and usually don't eat any calories from exercise, unless I'm hungry. I eat when I'm…

I use Thomas' light whole grain English muffins (100cal each), a little pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese, and turkey pepperoni to make little mini pizzas! Bake at 400F for about 12-15 min. Quite yummy and filling and definitely satisfies my pizza cravings. I wouldn't mind going out or ordering in pizza but this is more cost…

I'm so sorry, I have this as well, but on my legs! It's exercise-induced urticaria for me and I've had it since childhood and it certainly contributed to becoming obese since just walking could set it off. It is absolutely debilitating, and you wouldn't think that itching could be "that bad" but oh my god, it makes me want…

Wohoooo!!!! I made it to ONEderland today!!! :) SW: 255 CW: 199.8 <-- hey, that counts! ;) GW: 185 UGW: 127.5 so I can say I lost half of my weight ;)

I fee you on this. I think it's a genetics thing though; I've always had large breasts and so have all the women in my immediate family lineage, so... Yea. I've lost about 55 lbs (from 255 to 200) and have only gone from a 38DDD to a 36DDD... I, too, am hoping for more reduction but it's probably that I'll always be busty…

Oh god, that is awful! I can't believe how these terrible docs think it's ok to say these things to vulnerable patients! Jesus Christ... They need better training in PCOS and being supportive and appropriate with people. Makes me so mad! I'm glad you found a good doctor now who is helping you. I feel like the newer doctors…
