  • If you get our sense of humour then you're a rare breed of American. I've spent a lot of time over there, got loads of American friends and my sister in law is American and they really don't get the humour. I travelled all over the US and maybe 5% got it. Maybe. I don't think it's that much more expensive than the US. Ok,…
  • Hey feel free to add me. My motivation is stalling at the moment so could use some extra! I can try and help motivate too :-)
  • Hey, I gained weight from depression and meds too. It sucks *kitten*! Taken myself off the meds and working on getting myself back on track. It's slow going at the moment but hopefully it'll get better. I'm not so much into yelling but if your diary looks bad I'll ask you why. Will that help? Feel free to add me. Anyone.…
  • It's more like 80/20 diet/exercise. You can easily lose weight without exercising but if your diet's rubbish then no amount of exercise will help.
  • MFP's settings for protein are really really low. I try to hit between 100 and 140 every day and I'm absolutely fine. Protein is good to help repair your muscles. Eat more protein!
  • This!!!
  • I'm around the same weight and I also have knee problems. Use a good support when you're working out and it'll make a world of difference. I'm hoping less weight will make it easier too so I'm just persevering with it. Good luck!
  • You live and learn. Good on you for realising that it wasn't healthy and doing it the right way. You will do it, just persevere and have faith and it'll all be fine!
  • Personally I would always want my partner to be honest with me. I'm the kind of girl who if I ask 'does my butt look big in this?' I would want someone to tell me the truth. If he thought I was gaining weight I would want him to tell me but not cos HE thinks I should lose weight but because he would know that I don't want…
  • If that's your resting heart rate then no! That is not normal. Resting heart rate should be between 60 and 100 really. If that's your heart rate when you're working out then it's high yeah but not the end of the world. Maybe see a dr and get it checked out.
  • Read the whole thing. She corrected to 300-400.
  • Try dvd's by The Firm. They're really good and have some short workouts that you can fit into a busy day. For pilates I have one by Suzanne Deason called Pilates for weight loss. I love it. There's modifications and I just find it really calming and relaxing. My flexibility is also improving. It's all good. Hope you find…
  • They sounds like well balanced meals so that's good. I was worried for you!
  • As someone else has said, dr's don't know everything. It sounds like you're doing what you need to do, exercising and eating right and that it's working. 5lbs is awesome! How much does she expect you to lose? Just keep doing what you're doing. Awesome job!
  • Try Sainsburys or M&S. One of my friends on here has venison burgers all the time I just can't remember which one it was from!
  • What are eggs benedict? I'm curious.
  • Being underweight is just a visible symptom of anorexia and usually means it's been going on for a long time. If they display other signs, not eating, obsessing about food, over exercising, thinking they're still fat etc then yes, they can still be considered as anorexic. It can depend on the person though and doesn't mean…
  • I use prograde workout powder. It's specifically designed to help your muscles after a workout. www.prograde.com Check it out, it works for me.
  • I just looked at your diary too. Please please please eat more. What you're eating now is nothing. You need more protein and carbs especially if you're going to be strength training. Carbs aren't all evil. Wholewheat pasta, wraps etc, they're all ok. Just balance it out. Your endurance will improve massively.
  • Like a couple of others have said, if you're not used to lifting then start lighter and work up. You could just start off with your bodyweight and then as that becomes easier add a weight in. I do a dvd by the firm called total body tone. I absolutely love it. You can do with weights or without and it really does work your…
  • I can completely understand the anxiety of talking to someone but therapists/counsellors get that and will do everything they can to make you comfortable. Is there maybe a helpline you can call? Sometimes it's easier to talk on the phone when you can't see the person. The reason may also not be sinister. It could be…
  • Hey, it sounds like your problem is more psychological than anything else. I lost about 60lbs a couple of years ago and then put it all back on (and then some) within 6 months. I have a problem in that something happened to me when I was a child so I kept myself fat and overweight to keep myself 'safe' from attention. When…
  • If he's only interested in you for your boobs then he's not the one for you!! You shouldn't have to change to fit what he wants, he should accept you for who you are. If you're healthy then that's all that matters. Maybe you could try telling him how you feel and how his comments are making you feel. Don't let your life be…
  • ^^^THIS! Everyone is different. Some need breakfast, some don't. There are no differences with either method to be honest. I eat when I'm hungry and I'm not hungry at breakfast time. Personally I find if I eat breakfast it makes me eat more during the day. But that's just me. If not eating breakfast is working for you then…
  • Everything that's already been said. As an aside it also really helps your skin. Mine has cleared up remarkably since drinking more water. It can sometimes feel like a chore but I definitely notice a difference when I don't drink enough.
  • It's a constant struggle with me. I've been an emotional eater for years so it's really hard to break the habit. I've had a rough couple of weeks emotionally and I slipped back into old habits. I've put on 4lbs so I'm annoyed with myself. I'm trying to get back on track but it's difficult. Well done you for not stopping…
  • I do IF but in a 16/8 pattern. Meaning I fast for 16 hours (overnight is easiest) and then fit my calories in the 8 hour window. It's best to workout in the fasted state as you get the most benefits from it and then you fuel your body when you break your fast. If you're not sure about it then try it for a couple of weeks…
  • You look absolutely amazing!!! What an amazing transformation! Can I ask though, how did you combat the problem of extra skin? Cos you don't look like you have any now and that's one of the things I'm worried about. Congrats again. All your hard work paid off! You're an inspiration!
