  • Must add Practical Paleo to this as well! Great book without all of the science-y stuff.
  • If you are buying grass-fed/grass-finished beef, fat doesn't matter...eat up! If you are buying conventionally raised beef (i.e. grain-fed), get the lowest fat, drain it and eat a source of good fat with it like coconut oil, avocado, olive oil, etc. The fat is where all of the chemicals/antibiotics end up.
  • I am slowly weaning myself into the Primal way of living so I can go sull-force beginning April 1st too. I don't get on Pinterest ttoo often but I did see several recipes out there. I love all of the websites/blogs i have found for Paleo/Primal recipes. I didn't realize there were so many! One of the challenges I will have…
  • Smoked Weight Watcher String Cheese has a great flavor and they are the only ones I buy now and I am not on WW.
  • I was amazed to find it at my local Kroger's (in Cincinnati) in the health food section. It was just over $4 for the jar which should last a long time for me.
  • I totally agree!!!
  • While I am not a big fan of protein bars, if you like them, pack some in your bag to eat throughout the day with a few pieces of fruit. You can munch on your way to class. I personally would feel way too stuffed if I tried to eat 1000 calories at the end of the day.
  • On days that I work, I eat 5-6 meals/snacks a day. Because my job is going pretty slow right now, I plan them out so I don't snack on junk because of boredom. On days off, I probably eat 3-4 times because I am busy doing things so I don't think about munching on stuff. I try to plan out what I eat during the day in case I…
  • An assortment of sushi and sashimi with sake!
  • If you click on MY HOME then Goals, you can customize your calorie and macronutrient settings. MFP made my goal 1200 and was not losing so I upped it to 1600 to be closer to my TDEE.
  • My guess is that it was a teriyaki sauce they put on the chicken which is pretty typical at hibachi places.
  • Outback's nutritional information is available online and is listed on MFP. I was just there last night and had a 6 oz special with no butter, mixed veggies with no butter, a salad with the tangy tomato salad dressing, and half a loaf of their yummy bread. All for around 700 calories! Can't beat that for eaating out (of…
  • That sounds yummy and simple! Thanks for sharing!

  • I forgot to mention that I did buy it since I only knew of people buying it on the internet or in specialty stores plus it was only 3.99 for the jar. I'll give it a try this weekend since I already have today and tomorrow's meals planned out.

  • I am assuming you cut it in half and took the seeds out before cooking... ;-) I place mine cut-side down and put some water, about 1/2"-1" deep, in the pan (make sure you use a baking dish or cookie sheet with side higher than an inch) and bake it around 375-400 degrees until the outside is soft to the touch. The water…
  • Venetianz, you are definitely NOT alone! I have been living like that for YEARS! Yo-yo dieting has been a way of life for me and every time I have a big weight loss, I gain it back. It's funny because I am aware of the psychological issues I have in my life that cause me to make the wrong food choices but when it comes…
  • I love it mixed with creamy peanut butter. It's a great high-protein snack and it tastes surprisingly good!
  • I would wait until goal. I had to take my engagement ring off over a month ago and only wear my wedding band. Funny thing is my husband hasn't even noticed! Also, by waiting to have it resized when you reach your goal weight, you can use the new size to help keep you in check. When it starts getting a little…
  • I am so glad I saw this today! I was looking for some motivation to get me back on track and this definitely helps! Thanks for sharing!
  • Counting points for fruits and veggies varies even among WW leaders. I have had some who say all are free and some who say to count points after you have eaten the recommended daily amount which I am a believer in the latter because those calories do add up! I think the guidelines to get so many fruits and veggies in is…
  • Without seeing the descriptions of what is in the entrees, I would stay away from them because they all sound too good to be true by the titles! =P I would go for the smoked salmon platter, caprese salad or the hummus platter with a house salad and dressing on the side. Definitely don't be afraid to ask what's in the…
  • I have Rhuematoid Arthritis and have been on low-dose prednisone for at least 5 years with a few high-dose days/weeks thrown in there. I gained some weight maybe due to the prednisone side effect of wanting to eat more but it comes down to choices I made to eat unhealthy foods versus healthy foods. I try to drink pleanty…
  • I totally understand what you are going through but I was going through it on Weight Watcher's. I lost and gained the same 5 pounds for months watching my points. I finally decided to take a look at the caloires I was taking in as well as the macronutrients so I knew where my calories were coming from. I joined MFP after…
  • Thank you for sharing this! It's amazing how many of us don't want to be honest with ourselves and think that just because we eat an extra piece of fruit or park farther away will result in losing 10 pounds overnight! I think once we are honest with ourselves, we will succeed! The changes I have made have definitely…
  • I think it's fine as long as you are seeing the results you want to see overall and you know that if your weightloss stalls that it could be a contributor. I don't think any food should be 100% banned from a "diet", especially if you don't let it be an excuse to totally give up on eating better (some people would say, "Oh,…
  • You're story sounds just like mine! Minus the the age (I just turned 40) and the kids! My point is that we share the same addiction and goals...to lose weight and be healthier! I am looking for the support and motivation to help me succeed too! Feel free to add me as a friend because together, we can do this!!…
  • Kelly, you are doing great so far! 10 pounds and 22 inches? That's great! Unfortunately, weight-loss doesn't work as fast as weight-gain! :grumble: But it sounds like you are on the right path to success! Please feel free to add me as a buddy so we can work through this journey together. Jinny
