Wow, really? I don't normally give this advise, but... Yes, you might want to just give up because if you are going to cry about 1 pound in a week, this really isn't for you. Or... Mine just started doing the exact same thing, except mine will show a heart rate of 00 and then jump up to 234! I wash mine regularily, so I know that's not it. Last night a friend suggested a new battery also, so I am going to give that a shot.

I have a Polar F4 HRM and love it. I tend to burn right around the 300-325 calorie mark doing 30 day shred when I really push it through the whole workout.

No right or wrong answer here... If you are going to panic about the little ups and downs that happen from day to day, then I would only weigh yourself once a week. Me personally, I weigh myself every morning. I don't do it to to obsess over the weight. It just keeps me in check from day to day.
