  • I used to buy a bag of crisps 3 or even 4 times a week, and sometimes a few sweets as well to go with it. I only buy one bag on saturdays now, and I'm happy with that. So I haven't cut it out completely, I just cut down on the amount :) And it feels better when eating it on saturdays now, knowing it's a special weekend…
  • I have a snack day every saturday, and on that day I set my goal to maintaining instead of losing. I also don't care if I go over my calories by a few 100 that day, as I stay under every other day of the week. I usually buy one bag of crisps and perhaps a few sweets, and eat my other food as normal. It works really well…
  • That's true :)
  • There are so many old myths about metabolism here. You don't need to start your metabolism up in your morning, you don't have to eat frequently to keep it up, and it doesn't just stop working if you eat too little (although I do not reckomend eating too little, but that's because of other health reasons). Our bodies are…
  • Good that you found out :D It's horrible having to think "never again in my life", not motivational at all! I have snack days every saturdays, and are often offered a piece of cake or similar on sundays which I accept, and I still lose weight steadily and I feel great! It's also a good feeling looking forward to the…
  • Unless you have a medical condition, this is just a good thing. The protein number isn't a limit that you should stay under, it's a minimum goal to be reached. It's just positive if you go over with a lot, just like vitamins for example.
  • Well, if you only think about calories they aren't that different, no. But if you also consider health, there's quite the difference! But whole grain is the best of course.
  • I eat out very rarely, so I choose not to bother at all really. I just pick whatever looks good. I figure it's my everyday choices that really count, not the few restaurant visits.
  • I'm not really on any specific diet. I just cut the crisps and sweets (except for saturday), and started eating smaller portions. I just eat less calories than I burn, and make relatively healthy choices. That's in, and it's working great :D
  • Looking at your diary it seems like you have quite a few days where you work out a lot, and eat 1200 calories or under. No wonder you don't have much energy! You need to fuel your body some more. I don't say you need to eat ALL your exercise calories back, but you should eat more than 1100-1200 calories a day when you're…
  • The protein setting is not a LIMIT, it's a minimun GOAL to be reached everyday ;)
  • If you don't go out often, I really don't see why one shouldn't order whatever you want at a restaurant. They are for those special occasions. I like to choose something that I think looks really good, and which is different than my everyday food. Portion sizes are usually huge anyway, so I rarely finish them. For me, an…
  • Of course. My top priority is always that my food tastes good. I don't want to eat food that doesn't taste good. And on saturdays I eat snacks and such that has no benefits regarding health whatsoever, but I don't care. It's my snack day. I still lose weight, and I still get the nutrition I need.
  • Les Misérables by Victor Hugo.
  • The number you get for protein isn't a limit, it's a goal that should be reached, and it's just a good thing if you go over. Think of it as the same way you think of vitamis. You wouldn't worry about going over your recommended amount of Vit C I take it, and it's the same thing with protein.
  • I do this if I'm unsure. I don't double it though, I usually add about 1.5 of the serving. Thinking better safe than sorry, haha ;)
  • When people start saying you shouldn't eat carrots, you know that this carb hysteria has gone too far. Keep on eating your carrots, they're yummy and good for you :)
  • Pieces of fruit with vanilla flavoured quark. Usually banana and/or apples. Skyr, which is a kind of youghurt. Pieces of carrots and swedes in cold water, or with cottage cheese. Cottage cheese with a sugarfree soda. A few pieces of dry-cured ham. They're very high in salt, so only a few ;) Wasa cinnamon cracker.
  • Thanks for sharing, will absolutely watch.
  • I hope you didn't count the weight of the nut and the peel ;)
  • Said it before, and will say it again. The protein goal is NOT A LIMIT TO STAY UNDER! It's just a target to be reached, you should at least get that amount of protein in a day, and if you go over; GREAT :D
  • Most days yes, but I wouldn't worry if you go slightly over one or two days during the week.
  • One thing alone can not hinder your weight loss, unless that's the only thing you eat ;) Do they make you go over your calorie goal by a lot? If so yes. But if you stay within your calorie goal, it shouldn't be a problem. Does it make you go over your sat. fat limit? If so, like I suggested earlier, I'd recommend you cut…
  • They are good for you, they're a healthy source of fat. But they should be eaten in moderation. Like everything else, it is a balancing act, so if you get a lot of saturated fat from other sources as well, it could become a problem. But then I would try to cut down on the other fat sources, and not the avocado ;) Unless…
  • Nope. There are acually different types of cholesterol, and the ones you find in eggs are the good kind. Fact. Unless there's any medical reason involved, there's no harm in eggs.
  • Well, the actual workout of 30 Day Shred is about 20 minutes. The rest is filled with talking, instructing and stretching.
  • It doesn't matter that you're over your protein, you should be. Unless you have some medical condition of course. The protein goal is not a limit to stay under, it's just the least amout of protein you should eat everyday. If you go over, GREAT :D
  • I would not worry about counting calories for every meal while on holiday, but there are of course some simple things you can do still. I don't know about you, but generally I'm quite active when travelling somewhere new, there's lots of walking, getting to know the place, swimming, shopping and similar. So you will…
  • If it's only for today, no stress. It's worrying if EVERYDAY is like that, but one day in either direction is not gonna ruin anything :) Our bodies are perfectly able to handle it. It's what you do in the long run that counts.
  • I see nothing wrong with having a few slices of bacon with a meal. They're tasty, and you don't have to eat a whole pack of them everytime you make them. I think people who think bacon is a no-no, is people who find it hard to restrain themselfes, they can't stick to just a few pieces, so then it's easier to just cut it…
