Adding more calories than consumed

Am I the only one who, when they don't know the exact calories, overshoots them to extreme amounts?
For instance, say you had something for Dinner and you didn't know the exact name or brand(Exp. Chef Boyardee,Tyson,) of it, and you went to put it into your food diary and just picked something that sounded close to it, would you double the servings just in case?
Sorry if I expalined it weird.
I just feel a little scared that I'll go over my calorie limit without really knowing it and I wanted to know if I was the only one who does this on occasions.

No, I pick something that sounds reasonable. I'm sure I overestimate on some and underestimate on others.0

I do this if I'm unsure. I don't double it though, I usually add about 1.5 of the serving. Thinking better safe than sorry, haha0
