Because, god forbid, anyone eat protein that isn't meat, right? I'm vegetarian and get plenty of protein from non-meat sources, all of which are delicious. Quinoa, tofu, tempeh, seitan, nuts, beans, greens, eggs, soy milk with a protein shake.

I think you look fine in the bikini, but in think the one piece is a more flattering suit. It has nothing to do with your size or. How they fit you, I just think the one piece is cuter. But you look great either way.

You started here a week ago. Give it time.

It's a slow process. 5 pounds in less than 3 weeks is great! And if you've lost inches too you're doing well. Hang in there and keep at it.

But Dr. Oz promotes it!

Look for a natural self tanner. They give a more natural looking color and don't have the harmful chemicals that the regular ones do. And seriously, any time spent in a tanning bed increases your risk of skin cancer. It's a big deal. Don't think that you're safe just because you don't do it often. Young girls are getting…

Go with what MFP tells you. Opt to lose 1 or 1/2 a pound per week and eat those calories. Try to get your macros to fit, but keep in mind that you don't need as much protein as MFP says you do. An adult woman only needs 45-55 grams per day, an adult man needs 55-65. Eat lots of vegetables, some fruits, more plant-based…

I'm 5'5 and my goal (losing 1lb per week) is just over 1500. I'm grateful for exercise calories! My older kids (5 1/2 & 4) eat around 1200 calories a day, maybe a little more. I don't think I could handle eating that little. 1500 is pushing it for me and I eat whole foods and cook 99% of our food.

All of this is why I generally don't waste my time in the forums.

Nah, it's cool. I had a nice eye roll myself.

There really is no quick fix. Losing 5 pounds a month is difficult, especially if you're fighting medications and medical conditions. Be more active, eat less (or healthier) food is the basic formula, but you have to have patience. You didn't put the weight on in 4 months, don't expect to lose it that quickly. And even if…

I agree. I'm between 1500 and 1600 calories a day so that I can hopefully lose 1 pound a week. It's hard to stick to that and it doesn't really allow for treats, which is a bummer. My lunch today is a little over 300 calories (a pita sandwich with hummus and vegetables). It's filling for a little while but I know I'll be…

I'm at a point where the scale doesn't have an effect on my moods, so I weigh almost every day. In the beginning, that wasn't the case. A few years ago not seeing a drop or seeing an increase would put me in a bad mood. I've had two pregnancies since I started here in 2012 and that, coupled with increased knowledge of…

Just eat real ice cream less often.

This. I am not a runner and have no desire to be one. There are plenty of other ways to get some cardio in. If you want to run, go for it, but don't feel like it's something you have to do. Make sure you're using proper form at all times. Running is very hard on the joints, especially if you're overweight. It's very easy…

For the most part, I weigh/measure my food. It does feel a little obsessive, but it's the only way to actually know how much you're eating. It's way too easy to underestimate the amount of food you're eating, which defeats the purpose of trying to eat less/counting calories. That said, I don't measure everything. I…

The most obvious health benefit comes from not being exposed to the herbicides, pesticides, and fungicides that are used in the growing of conventional produce. Organic produce has also been shown to have higher vitamin and mineral contents.

Having to buy size 16 pants and breaking 200 pounds during my second pregnancy.

For me, it's not enough food and it doesn't taste good. I prefer preparing my own meals.

Carbs are in all fruits and vegetables.

I just have a protein shake (milk, protein powder) after a workout. When I went to the gym I would actually make it at home with soy milk and protein powder and take it with me. It didn't get warm in the locker (not sure how) and it was ready to go immediately after I was done.

Like a couple of people have said, it's just your positioning in the pictures. Don't stress about it.

My fourth baby was born about four months ago and I'm now getting back into the swing of things. The baby weight came off with no problem, but I still have about 30 pounds to go until I'm at a healthy weight. Add me of you want, my diary is open.

I make oatmeal with half water and half whole milk. I add cinnamon, allspice, maybe some nutmeg, a couple of drops of vanilla, and then some nuts and fruit. I made really yummy apple walnut oatmeal the other morning. I don't eat it often though because it isn't as filling and is high in calories. I'd rather have a ham,…

It's a personal choice. I choose to eat as much unprocessed/prepackaged food as possible because i like eating more vegetables and fruits, I like avoiding unnecessary chemical ingredients (yes, I know everything is a chemical, you know the type I'm talking about), and I like that whole/fresh/natural foods allow me to eat…

Mine's open. I'm 30, 5'5", CW 165-170 (I've been retaining water), gw 130-135. I'm just starting back after having my fourth baby and I'm finding it a little difficult to stick to my calorie goal. I need to lose the weight in about 7 months because we're taking a trip to Austin, TX for my husband's Marine Corps reunion.…

This. It's not healthy, but it's better than nothing. And if you don't know what's going on at home, you shouldn't judge.

I once lost 10 pounds in a week just from cutting out soda, and I was already at a fairly healthy weight.

Being set to lightly active is not too generous. I'm a SAHM and I spend a fair amount of time sitting with my newborn, pumping, etc. But, I also clean a lot, get up to change diapers, make food, and all sorts of other things. I'm set at lightly active and it hasn't stopped my progress. I just make sure I only log actual…
