I am definitely learning that I have to seriously cut back on my wine drinking if I seriously want to lose weight. I'm trying to avoid drinking during the week for now, but then I still have to limit my intake on the weekends. And it's not really the alcohol I crave, it's sugar! We have beer and red wine here all the time…

Wow, thanks everyone! I was kind of bummed yesterday when I only had a few replies . . . lol, be careful what you wish for! To clarify -- I am generally a healthy eater when it comes to meals and snacks -- fruits, veggies, generally lean meats, occasional fish and meat-free meals, low fat dairy, whole grains. I also…

OK, that's what I'm wondering --if doing it short term will help curb the cravings. My doc said she did it for a short time (maybe a month or two?) and found it curbed her cravings. But grocery shopping today I was just like, "I can't do it." sigh.

but then I wonder if I *should* be following it long term . . . sigh

Yep, that's kind of how I feel about it too -- and why I've never tried it before. I just love carbs too much. Even grocery shopping today and thinking about trying it this week was overwhelming. My Doc thinks it would really help me to get past my carb cravings but I know I couldn't do it long term.

Great advice from everyone--I've been running for a long time now and have big girls. I've done it all--doubled up on sports bras, invested in really good sports bras, etc. The Enell bra is great. That's what I used when I was at my heaviest, and I heard it's the sports bra Oprah uses too :) I've also relied a lot on Title…

There's a similar product called No Pudge brownies that I've found in our grocery store--no Trader Joe's near us :(

I'm borderline XL now; In some styles, the XL doesn't look good on me at all. I'm about 200 lbs, but I'm tall-ish at 5'9" :)

ummm . . . isn't being able to play soccer again long term? I mean, I'm not going to just play that one day and stop! lol

wine. wine. wine.

I'm 5'9", abt 200 lbs right now. I'd like to be about 160; Last time I was at that weight I found it pretty easy to maintain and I felt good and healthy :)

ugh, I hate that about getting sick! I don't eat much, but it's all cough drops, tea with honey, juice . . . high cal stuff! Hope you feel better soon!

And he means no grains. It does help to actually read the book

Actually it's eat PROTEIN with every meal -- eggs, beans, peanut butter, cheese, yogurt . . .

These are AWESOME tips. And I heartily agree about the shoes . . . go to a good running store where they can look at your gait, etc. and steer you in the right direction. Ask a lot of questions. It might be pricey, but then if you know what you're looking for, you can go to a less pricey store for the next pair (probably…

These are the rules that I saw on a picture file going around on Pinterest: 1. drink a large glass of water before every meal--no excuses! 2. don't drink your calories 3. Eat protein at every meal--or stay hungry and grouchy 4. slash your intake of refined flours and grains 5. Eat 30 to 50 grams of fiber a day 6. Eat…
