the easiest way to start is by increasing your consumption of whole foods--think lots of fresh veggies, greens, and some fruit. moderation is always a good idea for processed food. processed crap is processed crap. gluten free or not.

completely agree! plus running outdoors gives me plenty of distractions to keep my mind from getting bored and help me get into a "zone" if I HAVE to run on the treadmill, I like to play with intervals to keep it interesting

I can completely relate. I work a desk job 8-5 mon-fri and often struggle with the habit vs hunger eating issue. I've tried breaking the habit but with little success.
