  • Soda. Fast food. Store bought sugary baked goods. I will eat one or two if someone makes them from scratch.
  • Keep trying even if you fall down. The next time you sit down with a jar of whatever, force yourself to consider: "Am I really needing these calories? Or am I avoiding feeling/dealing with whatever's really bothering me?" Yeah, you're likely going to eat that jar, blow your calories for the day, but each time you make…
  • Your body is not going into starvation mode because you at less on one day. Some suggestions to deal with your huge caloric deficit: Break up your 1000 cals into approx 2-3 meals. If you're not eating a meal after your workout, have a protein shake and some wholesome carbs. I prefer fruit, but you might like something…
  • My plan is to have half a plate of vegetables, and the other half whatever I want. ...And a slice of pie.
  • Started round 2 today. Like a few people above me, I'm adding some weight days to this round. Feel free to add and good luck :)
  • OP: Did this as well for Insanity and focused on eating whole foods. Took a multivitamin, fish oil and vit C just to round things out. Shakeology is unnecessary and laughable really. Fuel your body properly and you'll get through the Insanity program just fine.

  • I gain about 5-7 lbs during TOM...and takes about a week to clear off. -.- Stopped weighing myself during that time and most days ;). Already in a bad mood during that time, why make myself mental with the scale?
  • I do Insanity, Turbo Fire for cardio and Cathe Friedrich's STS Mesocycle system for weights. Did p90x but got tired of Tony Horton haha. Between those 3 sets of dvds I get all the workouts I need.
  • 1. Try to eat as close to the natural source as much as possible. 2. Half a plate of veggies at lunch and dinner, two pieces of fruit somewhere in the day. 3. At minimum 1g of protein per lb of lean body mass. I do goal + some more. Everything else with regards to cals/macros is gravy. Really. Usually find these three…
  • @Lorina Awesome, wish you had shoved that loaf of bread down the back of your pants for effect, LOL. Posted this topic to my wall, the angst filled posts about scale fluctuations from a few on my friends list were making me slightly mental lately. I hope they read this, and well...do some mental recalibrations and stop…
  • Last year I was in the hospital for an agonizing growth. There was a fear that it might have been cancer. Had to wait a couple of days for lab results but during that entire time I thought that if it was cancer, I would have much rather gone into that fight healthy than I what I was: 75 lbs overweight, depressed and…
  • I evaluate at 5 lbs and change at 10 lbs....and for me the trend would be to increase closer to relevant TDEE as the weight drops.
  • Did some hiit style workouts for about 8 weeks going into it...along with some long cardio (kickboxing for me) sessions. Other than that work on your push ups, core and you should be good. First week of the first month (and second month) is the hardest. If you don't wash out in the first week, you should be able to stick…

  • My secret? Failure to plan is planning to fail. Exercise: I make a calendar and write in the workouts for the week. Everyday I show up, do the workout and cross off the day with an X. And then whenever I feel like not showing up I say to myself in big screaming serious caps: DO NOT BREAK THE CHAIN. I give myself leeway…
  • Like this tutorial: http://scoobysworkshop.com/pullups-for-total-beginners/ Good luck! :) p.s. you can do it!
  • I have a stipulation of requiring a message because some people treat this site like a Facebook friends list arms race. It is tiresome really to have people add you only because they want to pad their friends list. I give and like to receive feedback so for me adding someone is paying attention to them and their goings…
  • Might not be the best, but I like doing a kickboxing dvd after leg day. Found it to be just enough cardio and not too taxing on the legs. Actually helps ease some of the DOMS. Other days I do HIIT, boot camp style cardio so kickboxing does feel like a step down in terms of intensity (for me.) You could also just go for a…
  • This thread did not disappoint. /eating BANANA OH NOES!!!!11
  • I'll never give up my peanut butter. I'll cut anybody who tries to take it away from me. Really. Though seriously, I'll never do a low cal diet, any diet with a name in it, anything with strict carb restrictions or specific whole food restriction, anything that says I can't have my two pieces of fruit and oatmeal daily…
  • I don't run but I do this as well in my other workouts. I set little mini incremental goals like hanging in with an exercise video 30 secs longer than last time before taking a 5 count breather. If I could only complete half a set of something last time...I try to match it and then go for two or three more reps. Also make…
  • Awesome Yanicka, thank you for posting this. Hope to get to where you're at in a year. Just upped my cals this week after careful deliberation, I hope it pans out haha.
  • OP: You can lose all the weight in your wl ticker and look absolutely stunning. This "great" guy on the other hand will be a vain, shallow, cowardly ahole for the rest of his life.
  • Dark souls prepare to die edition when I got time to play it. Love it, hate it sometimes wish I had gotten it for x360, lol. Also, pop into LOTRO every now and then.
  • I eat a cut off my TDEE and generally do not eat back my exercise cals since I've already factored them in. I do log my exercise cals in case I need to eat some of them back on a high burn day. Why do this? Preference really. I like eating a constant amount every day so someone like me will close out the diary with cals…
  • Arrested Development The Wire Homicide Firefly...
  • In addition: a) Get more vegetables and fruits on your plate. b) See your macros at the bottom of your food diary? Try to hit them daily.
  • Sorry, but not menstruating is not "fine." Go to a low cost women's clinic if your parents won't take you. Also, just to throw this out there but low bodyfat percentages can put the brakes on your menstrual cycle. Your mom might be correct about you if you're exercising a lot and not eating enough to cover the amount of…
