This was my first thought, too. Sadly, your new smaller body burns fewer calories than before. If you haven't yet, make sure your current weight is reflected in your goals. Go to Settings, then Update diet/fitness profile and change your current weight. Congratulations on an amazing loss!

You got it! I'll have to remember "information icon". Sounds much better than little blue and white "i"!

Wow! You've been around for less than a month and already seen all/most of the bad side of MFP. Hope you've had some good experiences too! :flowerforyou:

I don't know...sometimes the ellipses get excessive......but sometimes they add to the meaning of the message............. Which is normally crap anyway..................................

Yeah, MFP won't actually show you what it expects your daily calorie burn to be on your home screen. It shows your goal which is your estimated daily expenditure less your deficit (based on how many pounds per week per week you told MFP you wanted to lose). If you go to the exercise tab of MFP and click on the little blue…

Kind of...our exercise logging does not have to be in real time. You can go back in to either MFP or Fitbit after the fact and add an activity/exercise. You'll need to enter what time you started and how long the session lasted. That data will override whatever was already calculated, not add to it. Your MFP goal is based…

Hi JJ, welcome to MFP! I have had a Fitbit for almost a year and a half and cannot imagine being without it! I recently replaced my well-worn Ultra with a One. I choose to log my food on MFP because I love the extensive database and the scanning capability with the app. I log my exercise on Fitbit because I (and many other…

Two thoughts: 1. Have you tried using a mixed grip? You grab the bar with one hand palm up and the other over-hand. You can switch "up" and "down" hands as needed. 2. If you haven't tried using chalk, I would give that a shot. I find it really helps me during my heavy deadlifts.

What the heck is sexy sewer relish? It sounds dirty...I'm intrigued

First post = epic fail No...just no. You can lose weight eating more than 1200 calories a day and you certainly don't need to exercise 8 hours a week. *Sorry, meant to quote B1NK

How about throwing on a fried egg from an Egg McMuffin? That'll boost the protein ratio

It's my understanding that HRMs are only accurate for steady-state cardio. They will give inflated calorie burn info for circuit or strength training. I couldn't tell you why exactly this is, but I know there have been threads about it before. Try the search function or google.

My fiance built us one like this when we first got into Stronglifts. Like you said, the cost was around $200 for the lumber and hardware. It works great! Mine doesn't have the pull-up bar between the front uprights, though. :( *runs to get fiance*

I eat greek yogurt every day. Before Chobani came out with the annoucement last week, I had noticed that the 6-oz container I had in the fridge had puffed up even though the exp date was 9/27 and I had Fage containers that had earlier exp dates, so I ate those first. Two days ago I heard about Chobani's problems and lo and…

Yup, just want to add a few points. You can use your Fitbit to create an activity record so you don't have to remember what time you started and stopped (press and hold the button until the clock starts, then press and hold again when done). Then you can alter the record to reflect that you were spinning and change your…

You should be looking at TDEE, not BMR as your baseline (unless you're in a coma, in which case they would be the same).
-
I disagree that's it's doubling up on the activity. MFP and Fitbit work together remarkably well (minus the few times a year they have sync issues). The Fitbit adjustment is just the difference between what MFP estimates you've burned and what Fitbit estimates you've burned. If you click on the little blue and white "i"…

I don't mean to be harsh, but I looked back through more than a week of your food diary and it looks like "some days I undereat" should really be "most or all days I undereat". You're way under your calorie goal every day that I saw. I realize that being a pescatarian limits your food choices, but if you continue this way…

The only way to move forward is to know where you're starting from. There is no point in hiding from the truth - it's just a number.

My fiance and I both switched to e-cigs in June of 2012 and haven't gone back. I'm much happier now that I can breathe. I haven't had bronchitis since I switched (used to get it at least once a year) and I've started jogging, which I never could do before. I've also managed to continue losing weight since switching. It's…

Gotta bump for anytime I need a good laugh. You guys are hilarious.

This is true. However, if you're getting a HRM, you should probably override MFP's estimate of your calorie burn with the number from your HRM as it should be more accurate (many people claim that MFP's estimates for exercise are too high). Whatever you do, don't use the calories burned from the elliptical, they are…

This is an awesome idea. I love me some guacamole, but this would be a healthier alternative. Thanks!

Seems to me that you're in a pretty good place, especially for 35. Two things pop out at me. First, I would recommend increasing your emergency fund a little (a minimum of 6 months of expenses, but probably more considering you rely on one income and it would take a while to find another job at that income level if you…

Sorry if I'm beating a dead horse here, but I thought there was no penalty for a Traditional to Roth IRA rollover or conversion so I did my own research. Here's what I found... From IRS Publication 590 (2012), Individual Retirement Arrangements (IRAs) Converting From Any Traditional IRA Into a Roth IRA Allowable…

My new favorite is Blue Diamond Blueberry Almonds. Amazing!

I understand your confusion, but there is a simple explanation. MFP asks about your exercise routine/frequency, but it does not factor this information into its calories calculation. Your calorie goal is 1620 if you do no exercise during the day. If you do exercise, you should log it in the Activities section and your…

I have to admit that I would personally be tempted to give it one more shot even though the program says you should deload. You're obviously consistently improving. But if you don't get it next time I would do a full 10% deload to 50 rather than just dropping to 52.5. Then once you knock that out of the park, you'll be…
