  • I am 5'5.5" and currently about 134 lbs. I am wearing a size 2 petite pants and extra small tops. I must have heavy bones or something... My goal is to maintain between 130 and 135, which I have been doing since the summer. I am 53 and started (last February, before joining MFP) at 178.
  • I am almost 53 and have lost 44 pounds from February until September (some before I joined MFP). I have been maintaining since then. I went from a size 10 (soon-to-be 12) and medium in tops to a size 2 petite and extra small. I just limited my calories to 1250-1350 per day and tried to get in about an hour of cardio 4-5…
  • I too will have a little of everything that tempts me at Thanksgiving. It would just make me feel too deprived not to. But I decided a few days ago just to be really "good" (stay within my calorie limits with healthy food and exercise daily) in the days leading up to Thanksgiving. That way I think I will be able to indulge…
  • Loose skin is definitely way better than the fat, but I must admit it's still a bummer. I lost 45 pounds since February, going from a US size 10-12 to a 2 petite. I was never obese, but I weigh less now than I have in probably 30+ years (though definitely in the healthy range). And I have A LOT of loose skin, everywhere.…
  • I've gone from a US size 10 in pants (and sometimes even those were starting to be too tight) and M on top, to a US size 0/2 in pants and XS in tops. (Sadly, my bra size also went from a 36C to a 32A!) I lost most of my weight before joining MFP -- 46 pounds in total.
  • Ugh. I have lost about 40 pounds in the last 7 months and it seems like A LOT of that came from my boobs. I am thrilled with the way my body looks generally, but not so much with my chest area -- not to be too graphic, but deflated balloons come to mind. I am hoping things perk up with continued exercise, but at my age…
  • I know someone who is in his late 60s now and has not missed a single day of running in the last 30+ years. Not a single day. Not when it was snowing. Not when he had the flu. Not on his wedding day or the day his daughters were born. While that may be extreme, the way he got there helped me be more consistent in my…
  • I am so sorry for what you are going through. It really is like losing a member of your family, and people who don't have pets (or even some who do) can't really understand what you are going through. It is somehow less acceptable to grieve for a lost pet than for a lost human. We lost a wonderful two year old cat several…
  • I am just over 5'5" and 52 years old. I started at 176 and my initial goal was 150. As I was getting there, I lowered it to 140. I just hit that this week, but now I am aiming for under 135. I'll see what that looks like when I get there. I too want to mostly get more toned at this point, especially my arms and butt and…
  • This is purely anecdotal, but I believe upping my water intake helped me break through a plateau and lose weight. I always thought the water thing was a myth and I hated it, so I didn't drink any (except for a couple of cups of tea a day). I had lost some weight (this was before I joined MFP) and then plateaued for a long…
  • A little while back, I realized that out of the things in my life that I was unhappy about or that were stressing me out -- the economy, aging parents, an illness in the family, my weight -- the only one I had any control over was my weight. It helped me to just focus on the thought that this was the one thing I could…

  • I just recently joined MFP, but I have lost 34 pounds since January 26. I went from 176 to 142 at my weigh-in yesterday. I did most of it without exercising, though I've stepped it up now. Still hoping to lose another 7 or so pounds. It's definitely doable. Good luck.
